It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world's relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We've been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.
The Role
Global Ecosystem Sales is one of the core growth engines for Block's Afterpay & Cash App business. We are building the future of fintech advertising through our Commerce Media Network, Ads, & Affiliates payments businesses.
The Strategy & Operations team develops go-to-market strategy, leads high-priority cross-functional projects, and sets the operating rhythm for the business. We are looking for a Strategy and Operations associate to provide business critical insights using analytics, ensure cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and help teams drive initiatives forward. The candidate will report to the Head of Strategy & Operations and partner closely with Sales leadership and key cross-functional stakeholders
You Will

  • Draw interpretable insights from business analyses; both quantitative and qualitative
  • Triangulate, validate, and summarize key messages across disparate sources, synthesize findings into meaningful insights, and identify opportunities most relevant for the sales team and various stakeholders
  • Lead critical cross-functional projects: articulating the problem, options for resolving, and then running the program to completion
  • Develop scalable, repeatable processes: Identify broken processes and work with cross-functional teams to create solutions. This can include mapping user journeys, defining new workflows, and implementing new tools..
  • Define actionable plans and roadmaps and align cross-functional stakeholders to drive successful implementation of change initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive sales, product or business strategies that solve complex business challenges and address the needs of customers and stakeholders across various functions to drive incremental growth.
  • Communicate data-driven recommendations to leadership and to the broader organization by preparing polished presentations and identifying key takeaways.

You Have

  • 4+ years of strategy and business operations experience, preferably in management consulting or a fast-moving technology company.
  • Distinctive problem-solving, strategic capabilities, and experience building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders
  • A strong grasp of processes and workflows. You excel at setting up frameworks, gaining buy-in, and implementing process changes across an organization.
  • Strong analytical capabilities - this can include experience in financial modeling, SQL, Tableau, etc.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and craft compelling narratives to influence internal and external technical and business stakeholders across diverse teams at all levels.
  • Deep comfort operating in the ambiguity of an ever-evolving product that operates at scale globally.
  • Ability to work independently and drive strategic projects from ideation to execution in a highly matrixed global organization.
  • MBA or Masters degree a plus

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
