The Job
We’re looking for a Strategy Manager who will partner with senior leadership on the development and implementation of Ambercycle’s strategy, annual operating plans, and guide department heads toward making decisions that maximize achievement of operational goals. In this role, you will utilize your expertise and knowledge to develop, implement, and communicate strategy, create execution plans, gather data on the effectiveness of these strategies, and continually iterate and refine. You will help improve daily functions, build processes based on business goals, and measure the efficiency of these processes.
What You'll Do
- Assist the C-suite in developing comprehensive company strategies.
- Support leadership in business development planning and tracking, which includesaligning priority clients and offerings.
- Work with Business Operations Manager to create a live market and pricing intel hub that tracks competitor moves, brand procurement trends, feedstock signals, and projects gross margin across markets and seasonality.
- Develop a perspective on the future gross margin position based on cost reduction initiatives.
- Devise communication plans and investor-ready storytelling that translate complex operations, cost curves, and TAM data into decisive storylines.
- Synthesize clear takeaways from complex information and make strategic recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Create financial models, make strategic financial recommendations, capture value, etc.
- Structure and solve ambiguous issues within sales, partnerships, and supply chain.
- Manage and contribute to due diligence processes.
- Manage budget justification and reporting tools to create a finance-approved framework tying brand activations to pay-back horizons and ROIC through automated dashboards.
- Design implementation plans and leadspecific initiatives.
- Collaborate on high-level strategic questions, providing data-backed trade-offs and hypothesis-driven solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field required.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in creating and implementing business strategies, incorporating quantitative analysis, and building financial models.
- 2+ years of experience at a startup in a related industry or at a consulting firm with clients in the CPG space.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or finance certification (e.g., CFA Level I+).
- Ability to own long-term strategic initiatives with minimal guidance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for engaging various audiences and presenting information across different mediums.
- Experience working with or managing teams in consulting, analytics, supply chain, logistics, engineering, or operations.
- Strong attention to detail and superior time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet competing deadlines.
- Ability to independently manage problems, develop solutions, and make proactive decisions.
- Adaptable to changing work demands, comfortable managing ambiguity, and evolving priorities.
- Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Google Sheets.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, results-driven, proactive, self-starter capable of operating independently with minimal daily direction.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
- Growth mindset, strong desire to learn quickly and contribute to an industry-defining company.
