As the Strategy & Growth Manager, Financial Services,  your thirst for knowledge and your eagerness to take on uncharted business challenges will be key. Working independently while leading teams across the organization, you'll focus on identifying and executing initiatives that will propel our Clio Payments product to new heights, on a global scale. You'll also play a crucial role in defining the embedded financial services roadmap, shaping the future of this vital domain for Clio.

As a key member of the Financial Services team you will sit at the intersection of GTM, account management, operations, product, and strategy. This role requires a strong desire to learn and a willingness to tackle complex business challenges that Clio has not faced before.

About the team:

Financial Services is the fastest-growing department at Clio. This team is responsible for defining our long-term financial services strategic roadmap and supporting the global scaling of our Clio Payments product, which is currently experiencing rapid growth.

Financial Services has a broad mandate that encompasses everything from developing and executing go-to-market strategies for each embedded financial product to building and managing financial technology partnerships. They work closely with other key stakeholders to identify new product and service opportunities, making sure that Clio continues to innovate and stay ahead of the curve in the legal technology space. With the team's expertise and strategic guidance, we are confident that we can continue to expand our financial services offerings and provide even greater value to legal professionals around the world.Additionally, the Financial Services department supports the operations of our payments business and emerging financial products, working as subject matter experts with customer facing teams and interfacing with partners as well as managing risk and compliance. 

What you'll do:
  • Lead high-value strategic initiatives for the company, with high responsibility and autonomy

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance teams to define and operate new financial service products and markets

  • Contribute to the negotiations and relationships with the key third-party service providers and partners who we utilize to deliver payments and financial services to our customers

  • Act as a subject matter expert on financial services platforms for other teams

  • Synthesize complex data analysis using Excel/Google Sheets/BI Tools, deriving and validating insights to provide recommendations to senior management

  • Present findings, plans and recommendations to senior management, including the C-Team and investors. 

About you:
  • Fintech, Investment Banking, or Consulting experience, with significant exposure to strategic initiative planning, growth, operations and finance

  • Ability to think and operate at a “strategic level,” but drive execution on a “tactical level” with the willingness to roll-up sleeves

  • Influencer, partner, and leader who can work cross-functionally with engineering and financial business teams across a company to set and deliver on product vision

  • Data-driven mindset and highly analytical with the desire and ability to dig into metrics to derive insights and drive decisions

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently with stakeholders ranging from junior individual contributors to the C-Suite. 

  • Strong financial acumen and modeling expertise 

Bonus points for:
  • Embedded Finance experience within a vertical SaaS company with exposure to Payments, Acquiring, Issuing, and/or Lending

  • Direct experience working with modern fintech / BaaS companies such as Stripe, Adyen, Worldpay, Fiserv, AirWallex, Plaid etc

The full salary range* for this role is $141,700 to $177,100 to $212,500 USD.Please note salary bands may differ based on location and local currency. Additionally, benefit offerings may differ depending on the employee's location.

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate.
