About the Team

Yahoo Finance is a leading business and financial news platform that helps users grow their wealth, with unrivaled access to financial data, insights and editorial content. Yahoo Finance has a user base of 150M global unique monthly users that return to our platform stay up-to-the-minute with the latest financial news and information.

This is an in-office role located in New York City or Mountain View/San Francisco.

In this role, the Senior Manager will identify and execute opportunities to grow the Yahoo Finance business through data and insights working with cross functional stakeholders. They will work on a wide range of projects that require deep understanding of business drivers, latest industry trends and competitive landscape, such as strategic planning, product engagement analysis, revenue optimization, new business/investment case formulation and operational enhancement.

This role is part of the Yahoo Finance Strategy, Operations and Insights team, which partners closely with the General Manager and their leadership team to work on a wide range of high impact and high visibility growth initiatives. The role reports to the VP of Strategy, Operations and Insights. 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prioritize and implement growth initiatives, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders spanning Product, Editorial, Marketing, Research, Sales, Finance, and BD/ Partnerships

  • Provide strategic and analytic leadership, and be a trusted thought partner for the executive team

  • Drive initiatives through strategy, planning, testing, launching, and scaling stages

  • Partner with Analytics, Data Science, Research and Finance (FP&A) teams to translate data into actionable insights 

  • Develop and implement best-in-class operational processes that track progress and drive accountability toward carefully selected KPI targets

  • Clearly communicate high-level strategy as well as tactical progress/ status to senior leadership 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in an analytical role in management consulting, business operations, corporate strategy or related field

  • Ability to deeply understand business issues and drivers, formulate hypotheses, gather and analyze data, and build a narrative for recommended improvements 

  • Ability to get things done. Implement appropriate tracking, stakeholder management, and process design

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Intellectually curious, proactive problem solver, quick learner, detail-oriented

  • High proficiency with Excel/ Google Sheets and PowerPoint/ Google Slides

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial technology, media, digital consumer products, and/or advertising

  • Experience working with Product and Engineering teams

  • Experience working with data analysis tools such as Looker; experience using SQL

  • Masters in Business Administration

The compensation for this position ranges from $122,250.00 - $255,000.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
