About Odys

Our mission at Odys is simple - we build safe, sustainable aircraft to cut travel time in half on the world's busiest corridors. Our flagship aircraft Alta enables travelers to skip the big-airport hassle by using city helipads and local airports to connect cities less than 1,000 miles apart (approx 40% of flights). And on average cut CO2 by 76% on tens of billions of flight miles globally.

To get there, we start with our UAV called Laila for commercial logistics, medical transport, humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and defense missions. We’re deploying aircraft with launch partners (Fiji Airways, Honeywell, Aramex, US Navy) beginning in 2026 and already have firm orders for aircraft under contract.

We’re a team of expert engineers from deep tech and aerospace that focus on fast iterations loops (completed transition flight faster than our peers) combined with mastery of the aircraft certification process. Previously, our team developed custom drones, brought multiple automotive platforms into production, and electrified transportation vehicles that magnetically levitate, that roll, that fly. Together, we’ve been learning, developing, building, testing, and preparing for this challenge our entire lives.

About the Role

We are raising our Series B and looking for a sharp, self-directed MBA intern to be embedded directly within the fundraise process. You will work closely with the CFO and executive team, owning critical workstreams from day one. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role - not a support function. You will operate with significant autonomy and leave the summer having had a meaningful effect on a real transaction.

What You’ll Own

Data Room Management

• Help build and own ongoing maintenance of the investor data room - structure, index, and organize all materials across financial, legal, commercial, and operational workstreams.

• Own the document request pipeline: triage incoming investor requests, coordinate across internal teams (Finance, Legal, Sales, Product), and ensure timely delivery.

• Obtain legal approval for data room materials and all subsequent revisions, coordinating with counsel to ensure documents are cleared prior to investor access.

• Maintain version control, audit trails, and access permissions across all data room platforms.

• Maintain master tracker for outstanding items, open diligence questions, and completion status.

Investor Materials & Narrative

• Support development and ongoing refinement of the pitch deck, executive summary, and investor FAQ - translating internal data into a compelling, investor-ready narrative.

• Support development of KPI dashboards and supporting exhibits for investor presentations, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across all materials.

• Draft and prepare materials for investor meetings, follow-up responses, and diligence calls.

• Maintain consistency and accuracy across all materials as financials and business metrics evolve through the process.

Process & Pipeline Management

• Manage the investor outreach tracker – log investor interactions, track pipeline stage, flag follow-ups, and keep the team informed of deal process status.

• Coordinate logistics for investor meetings, management presentations, and site visits - including full organization and logistics for onsite meetings.

• Research all scheduled investor meetings in advance and prepare tailored prep packages for each - covering investor background, firm thesis, key partners, potential areas of focus, and connection points or areas of affinity with our business.

• Prepare and distribute a weekly process status update for CEO and VP Strategy review, covering pipeline progress, data room status, outstanding action items, and upcoming milestones.

• Maintain a live view of process timeline, milestones, and open items to keep the deal on track.

Vibe Coding & AI-Powered Research Projects: Investor Research & Targeting

• Use AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity) combined with databases (PitchBook, Crunchbase, LinkedIn) to build a targeted investor list and competitive landscape analysis.

• Build a lightweight investor profiling tool that aggregates fund thesis, check size, portfolio fit, and recent activity to prioritize outreach.

• Automate enrichment of the investor pipeline tracker with publicly available data to reduce manual research time.

Who We’re Looking For

• First- or second-year MBA candidate; prior experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, or corporate development strongly preferred.

• Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and operating with limited oversight in a fast-moving environment.

• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; fluency with Excel and PowerPoint is a baseline requirement.

• Genuine curiosity about AI tools and a willingness to experiment with vibe coding and AI-assisted research - prior experience is a plus but not required.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; you take ownership of your workstreams and don’t let things fall through the cracks.

• Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive, confidential information.

What You’ll Get

• Direct exposure to a live Series B fundraise - a rare front-row seat to the full institutional fundraising process.

• Mentorship from the executive team with regular feedback and career development conversations.

• A clear view into whether a career in venture-backed startups, corporate development, or growth-stage finance is right for you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
