Job Description
The Procurement, Senior Manager is responsible for obtaining goods and services for various business processes within the organization. This role focuses on product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management. By managing complex procurement projects and mentoring junior staff, this role supports Takeda's mission of delivering better health and a brighter future.
OBJECTIVES:

  • As our successful Strategic Procurement Manager (SPM) in Vaccines Business Unit:
  • You will lead multiple categories to support the stakeholders in the Vaccines Business Unit, mostly residing in the US and Europe, supporting them to be successful in the development and scale up of QDenga.
  • You will partner with partner with Global Category managers to deliver the best value for our internal customers, with a clear strategy and roadmap of initiatives.
  • You will enable value through different ways - Enabling strong partnerships with our most relevant suppliers but also enabling preferred suppliers to streamline frequent purchases and create a great experience in buying in Takeda.


  • As our primary Business Partner (SPOC) for VBU:
  • You will support the success of our external partners to enable the Vaccines Business Unit to be successful. You will develop and implement specific strategies in those categories when not supported by Global teams.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that high-quality end to end user service delivery is achieved by understanding VBU needs and calling on the appropriate resources within global procurement team to support this. This will be a critical on-site liaison to link supporting functions and Vaccines Business Unite to ensure successful implementations.
  • Provide regional input to Global category strategies.
  • Accountable for the Global Procurement targets delivery in VBU.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in our partnerships with suppliers
  • Develop a pipeline of both category and functional initiatives and opportunities to meet targets
  • Monitor progress of Global Procurement activities in VBU to provide regular updates to his/her business partners
  • Work with Peer Functions to ensure end-user requirements are translated into efficient sourcing activity
  • Collaborate with our Center of Excellence to support a robust to sustainability, systems and processes
  • Drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance and improving efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Understand the challenges of the Vaccines business unit organization and awareness of Takeda's future direction and business challenges to successfully adapting the appropriate strategies, structure and approach to cost-effectively support the evolving needs.
  • Create a culture of compliance internally and externally where everyone abides by Takeda's Global Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct.


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Experience: 9-11 years of relevant procurement experience and supply chain experience
Essential qualifications:

  • Good organizational skills and ability to deal with competing priorities
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation in English and local language)
  • Creative thinker, curious and unafraid to ask questions
  • Innovator, willing to initiate changes, introduce new ideas, and creatively problem solve
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Demonstrates flexibility in schedule and willingness to limited travel (required travel may be as 10%)

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$137,000.00 - $215,270.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
