About NexHealth

Our healthcare system remains frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, instant meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you still have to call to schedule a doctor’s appointment and fill out a clipboard in the waiting room?

NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare by connecting patients, providers, and developers. We’re building the infrastructure layer for modern healthcare, connecting thousands of fragmented, on-premise, and closed EHR systems into a single, modern platform that powers software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the ecosystem.

  • Founded: 2017
  • Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
  • Funding: $177M Series C
  • Employees: 200+
  • Trusted by tens of thousands of providers and hundreds of health-tech developers — forging the infrastructure layer that modern healthcare needs

About the Finance Team

The Finance team at NexHealth is at the center of our business strategy and the decisions that drive growth. We partner closely with every function in the company — from Sales and Operations to the executive team — to make sure resources are deployed where they create the most impact.

Our work spans financial planning, performance reporting, and the strategic analysis that helps NexHealth navigate an ambitious growth trajectory in healthcare technology. We don't just report the numbers — we shape how the business understands and acts on them.

About the Role

As a Strategic Finance Associate, you will be a key contributor to how NexHealth allocates capital, evaluates strategic opportunities, and tells its financial story to internal and external stakeholders. You'll own analytical workstreams across FP&A, business partnering, and analytics — working directly with senior leaders and partnering across Sales, Operations, and the executive team.

This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to move fast, go deep, and have a direct line of sight to the decisions shaping a high-growth company.

What You'll Do

  • Own the development and maintenance of financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across the business.
  • Partner with GTM leaders to analyze pipeline performance, quota attainment, and revenue trends — surfacing insights that inform go-to-market strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted finance business partner to Operations, helping translate operational drivers into financial outcomes and improving visibility into unit economics.
  • Build and maintain executive-level reporting and dashboards that give leadership a clear, accurate view of business performance.
  • Drive the monthly and quarterly close process from a finance perspective — identifying variances, investigating root causes, and communicating findings with clarity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting infrastructure, and analytical frameworks as the company scales.
  • Support M&A and fundraising processes end-to-end, including financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and preparation of investor-facing materials

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or a comparable high-rigor, fast-paced finance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to own analytical projects end-to-end — from framing the question to delivering a clear recommendation — with minimal oversight.
  • A track record of partnering effectively with non-finance stakeholders — translating complex financial data into plain language that drives decision-making.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning tools, Excel/Google Sheets modeling, BI platforms and SQL or data querying tools.
  • A first-principles approach to problem-solving — you dig into root causes, challenge assumptions, and build durable solutions rather than patching symptoms.
  • Clear, structured communication skills — you can synthesize ambiguous information and present it confidently to executive audiences.
  • A high ownership orientation: you surface risks early, follow through without reminders, and hold yourself accountable for outcomes, not just outputs.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or healthcare technology company.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar ERP and CRM platforms.
  • Exposure to SQL or data querying tools for self-serve financial analysis.

Compensation

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just the base salary component of NexHealth’s total compensation package for employees. Other benefits may include stock options, an unlimited paid time off policy, and up to 100% coverage on medical, vision and dental insurance.

NexHealth Compensation Range
$106,100$166,100 USD

Benefits

  • Full Medical, Dental, and Vision (up to 100% covered)
  • 401K and commuter benefits
  • Flexible PTO
  • High-impact work that directly improves the healthcare experience for millions

Our Values

  • Solve the customer’s problems, not yours
When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers.
  • Do the things others are not willing to do
As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace.
  • Take ownership
Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses.
  • Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent
Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication.
  • Default trust
As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster.
  • Think in first principles
We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities to participate in the application or interview process. Contact [email protected] to request assistance.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
