We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Business Partner to support our AI team and other business functions. Our Strategic Finance Business Partnership team serves as a trusted advisor to the company, driving our financial planning, forecasting, and review processes, and guiding critical decisions through insightful analyses and strategic thought partnership.

This is a high-impact role on a lean team: you’ll partner deeply across Engineering and Product to strengthen executive-level visibility into financial performance, improve forecast accuracy, and evaluate strategic investments across our product.

This role is based San Francisco. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.

• Embed deeply within the AI team and broader business as a trusted financial partner. Understand key cost drivers and the product roadmap to proactively surface financial implications, risks, and opportunities.

• Own weekly and monthly AI cost reporting end to end, delivering clear visibility into spend, usage, key trends, and anomalies for executives and functional leaders.

• Deliver thoughtful analyses to support strategic decisions with strong judgment, speed, and attention to detail.

• Support the monthly close and reporting process with Accounting, vendor and PO tracking, budget-versus-actuals cost analyses, and flux reviews

• Partner with the AI team, Product, Data Science, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to deliver accurate forecasts and budgets.

• Strengthen AI cost data and reporting infrastructure by identifying data gaps, improving recurring workflows, and using AI and automation to make reporting more durable, scalable, and timely.

• 2-4 years of experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, and/or Corporate Finance

• Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, financial close, and reporting (budget vs. actuals, etc.)

• Data fluency and the ability to navigate complex datasets, including identifying anomalies or data gaps.

• Intellectual curiosity, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to move from detailed data to a clear point of view on performance, risks, and opportunities

• Comfortable partnering directly with senior leadership and building strong cross-functional relationships

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail — “get it done” attitude

• You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.

• Experience with a high-growth tech company, including native AI, SaaS, or consumption-based businesses

• Experience with NetSuite, Workday, Zip, and planning tools (Pigment, Adaptive, Anaplan)

• Working knowledge of SQL

Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $135,000 per year.
