Do you approach data as an art? Are you the kind of person who can sift through the noise, frame a fuzzy problem with real-world context, and bring a strategy team to formulate a complex solution? If so, Altium wants you on our team.
We’re looking for a sharp, business-first analyst to join our high-impact GTM Operations team. This role is ideal for someone who’s held ground in boardrooms and data labs alike.
You won’t just crunch numbers — you’ll drive context. You’ll partner closely with our Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operation leaders to translate raw data into high-ROI strategies that support our continuing success as a SaaS-first, cloud-native business.
What You'll Do
- Cut through the noise: Take a complex dataset and distill it into a few actionable insights for go-to-market execution.
- Operate in ambiguity: Many problems won’t come with clear data — or any data at all. You’ll need to ask sharp questions, talk to cross-functional teams, dig into systems, and build your own path to an answer.
- Be agile and iterative: You’ll frequently pivot based on what you uncover. Whether it’s shifting definitions, reframing hypotheses, or discovering better sources of truth, you’ll move fast and lightly.
- Drive insight, not just data: Use SQL/Python and strategic reasoning to enrich data, model impact, and deliver direction.
- Industry enrichment at scale: Help us define, bucket, and analyze a growing customer base — understanding not just who they are, but what they are in relation to Altium in the real world.
What You'll Bring:
- Background in finance-adjacent roles: Two to four years in PE, VC, investment banking, or consulting.
- Strong generalist mindset: background in data analytics, local to San Diego preferred- someone who thinks in systems and sees business as more than just a spreadsheet.
- Data toolbelt: SQL and Python proficiency. You’re not a data scientist, but you’re not afraid to dive deep and use the tools.
- Business intuition > dashboards: You see patterns and narratives in data. You know when a classification is fuzzy — and that’s when you lean into human judgment or will talk with stakeholders to gather more information.
- Problem solver with startup instincts: You like ambiguity, love puzzles, and are comfortable creating structure where none exists.
The salary range for this role is $173,000 to $211,000. Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
