Garner’s mission is to transform the healthcare economy, delivering high-quality and affordable care for all.

We are fundamentally reimagining how healthcare works in the U.S. by partnering with employers to redesign healthcare benefits using clear incentives and powerful, data-driven insights. Our approach guides employees to higher-quality, lower-cost care, creating a system that works better for everyone. Patients achieve better health outcomes, employers spend healthcare dollars more effectively, and physicians are rewarded for delivering exceptional care rather than performing more procedures.

Garner is one of the fastest-growing healthcare technology companies in the country. Our products are trusted by the most sophisticated employers and providers in the industry, and we are building a team of talented, mission-driven individuals who are motivated to make a meaningful impact on healthcare at scale.

About the role:

We are seeking an exceptional Strategic Account Director to join our Provider team. This role will report to the Vice President of Provider Accounts. The Strategic Account Director will serve as the primary relationship owner and trusted advisor for a portfolio of Garner’s largest Provider clients. Your mission will be to drive overall success for clients within our "Provider" line of business, which includes major health systems and other healthcare organizations in the telehealth/virtual care and care navigation spaces. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for translating a client's unique goals and needs into sustained, successful commercial partnerships for Garner’s products and capabilities. This role reports to the Vice President of Provider Accounts.

Where you'll work

Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is available for individuals who are comfortable with remote work and occasional travel to HQ. This position is up to 25% travel.

What you will do:
  • Own the process to retain and upsell Garner's largest clients
  • Drive improved net revenue retention (NRR) and other KPIs for your book of business
  • Serve as the main point of contact and trusted strategic advisor for client executives
  • Consult with clients to resolve strategic problems and ensure Garner is delivering value
  • Monitor and anticipate the strategic needs of your book of business
  • Monitor overall client health and execute strategic plans to proactively address key account risks
  • Execute project management plans for new client onboarding and regular client touchpoints
  • Collaborate with product, data, and technology teams to deliver customized reports and presentations
The ideal candidate has:
  • 7+ years of experience in either a growth-oriented account management, sales, or strategic planning role in the healthcare space, with direct experience working with health systems preferred
  • An organized, methodical approach to problem-solving, enabling superior project management and client responsiveness
  • Strategic account planning and execution skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to support client needs
  • An ability to articulate and inspire client action
  • A willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
  • Experience working in a dynamic startup environment
  • A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare.

Please note: we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Compensation Transparency:

The target salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000 annually, inclusive of performance-based bonus compensation. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
