The Equity Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of the company's equity compensation programs, including stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs), and the employee stock purchase plan (ESPP). Reporting directly to the Director, Executive & Equity Compensation, this role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate participant records, processing equity transactions, and ensuring employees receive timely, clear information about their equity benefits.

The ideal candidate has a foundation in equity compensation or financial administration, a high level of attention to detail, and a desire to grow within a fast-paced, global organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant records, including grant details, vesting schedules, and transaction history in the equity management platform (E*TRADE).
  • Process equity transactions—including stock option exercises, RSU vesting events, and ESPP purchases—accurately and within required timelines.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Support regulatory reporting and compliance filings (e.g., Form 4, 10-K, 10-Q) in coordination with the Legal and Finance teams.
  • Assist with SOX control documentation and audit support as directed by the Lead Equity Administrator.
  • Monitor and flag compliance issues or transaction discrepancies for timely resolution.

Employee Support & Communications

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to stock plan details, including vesting schedules, tax implications, and transaction procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute equity plan communications to employees in a clear and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure seamless administration of equity programs and accurate payroll tax withholding.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with external equity plan vendors and service providers to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Support the coordination of grant approval processes, including documentation and communications to employees and management.
  • Assist in special projects related to global equity plan expansion, system improvements, or process enhancements as needed.
  • Opportunities to support other areas of compensation, including executive compensation and broad-based initiatives, as needed.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
