The SALT Income Tax Compliance Senior Manager works alongside staff and firm leaders to direct all operational functions of their assigned department teams. Employees in this job class plan and execute business strategies for services and business development; coordinate and integrate activities with peers and/or other departments; and assume responsibility for profit and loss results. This job class requires knowledge of advanced tax principals and industry expertise and the ability to lead a variety of business and operational functions, maintain positive client and employee relations and produce high-quality results for the firm.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible, oversee and supervise multiple engagements in progress simultaneously
  • Demonstrate an expertise in responding to tax authority notices and client representation, researching complex tax matters to clearly communicate findings and act as main point of contact for clients.
  • Exhibit superior technical competence
  • Identify new business development opportunities and assist in growing existing client services via BD initiatives set forth by yourself.
  • Demonstrate firm leadership through example.
  • Develop employees in both technical and project management areas. In addition, provide effective feedback to partners.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of state income tax compliance experience with the focus on managing a state income tax compliance focused team
  • Understanding of state tax concepts including:
    • Nexus
    • State mods
    • Apportionments
    • Combined reporting
    • Strong pass through tax experience
    • Filing methods/elections
    • Ptet
    • C&I
  • Experience reviewing and delivering complex multistate returns
  • Strong experience with state tax technology including CCH Axcess 
  • Strong in excel and data
  • Strong management and organization
  • Strong budgeting and monitoring and follow through
  • Professional/Client facing
  • A passion for tax compliance
  • AI knowledge is a plus.

Salary range:  $155,000 - $190,000 plus bonuses and comprehensive benefits package
