Job Description

The Acquisitions department at Starz is in charge of curating and expanding the network's content library by identifying and securing rights to films/series that align with the brand's audience and programming needs. The team evaluates potential acquisition opportunities through maintaining relationships with industry professionals, negotiation, and attending film festivals and markets. They work closely with programming, marketing, and legal teams to ensure that the selected titles meet both creative and financial objectives.
Starz is a seeking an Acquisitions Intern. The Intern will provide general support to the acquisitions team including: research/track industry trends, screen submissions and cover scripts.

Responsibilities
Write coverage on scripts and completed screening submissions.
Assist with departmental administrative duties and special projects.
Create film/series tracking documents.
Follow, research, and stay informed of industry and entertainment news.

Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong research skills
Passion for film, television, and the entertainment industry

Compensation Data
The pay rate for this internship is $20/hr.

Important Dates
The STARZ Summer 2026 Internship program dates are: June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026

All interns are required to attend orientation on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Details

  • Regular business hours are 9 AM – 6 PM Monday-Thursday and Friday 9 AM – 1 PM
  • Interns must not work more than 36 hours per week
  • Interns must be enrolled in a college or university and classified as rising juniors or seniors
  • Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program
  • All internships are paid
