The Role:

We’re looking for a mission-driven Staff Technical Sourcer to join a foundational team in Ambience’s technical recruiting efforts. In this high-impact, zero-to-one role, you’ll partner closely with our engineering leaders to design and execute sourcing strategies that identify and engage world-class technical talent. You’ll own the top of the funnel: mapping markets, driving outreach experiments, and delivering high-signal candidates across engineering and machine learning roles. This is a builder's role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, works with urgency, and has a deep appreciation for the art and science of sourcing.

This role is Remote friendly in the Continental U.S.

What You’ll Do:
  • Own technical sourcing strategy for high-priority engineering roles, with a focus on backend and full-stack engineers, and machine learning engineers where applicable.

  • Quickly calibrate on candidate profiles with hiring managers and deliver high-signal pipelines aligned to team needs.

  • Develop scalable sourcing systems – including search strategies, talent maps, and outreach sequences – that balance creativity with repeatability.

  • Act as a sourcing SME within the recruiting org, contributing playbooks, enablement resources, and best practices.

  • Drive candidate engagement through personalized outreach and compelling storytelling that showcases Ambience’s mission and impact.

  • Champion an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring every interaction builds trust, equity, and long-term brand value.

Who You Are:
  • Experienced – 7+ years in technical sourcing or recruiting, including at least 2 years in a high-growth startup where adaptability, resourcefulness, and creativity were essential.

  • Technical depth – strong understanding of software engineering domains (backend, full-stack, platform, infrastructure, security) with the ability to identify both technical proficiency and cultural fit. Exposure to sourcing ML or AI-driven healthcare talent is a plus.

  • High-velocity operator – you ramp quickly, analyze profiles with precision, and run crisp recruiter pre-screens that deliver clarity early in the funnel.

  • Resilient and adaptive – you thrive in the unknown, bounce back from setbacks, and make progress despite limited direction or resources.

  • Persuasive communicator – equally skilled at pitching hard-to-reach candidates and aligning with execs, distilling complexity into actionable insights.

  • Outcome-oriented – you move with urgency and ownership, consistently optimizing for impact over process.

  • Mission-driven – you care deeply about improving healthcare and can compellingly pitch Ambience’s vision in competitive markets


Pay Transparency

We offer a base compensation range of approximately $165,000–$195,000 per year, exclusive of equity. This intentionally broad range provides flexibility for candidates to tailor their cash and equity mix based on individual preferences. Our compensation philosophy prioritizes meaningful equity grants, enabling team members to share directly in the impact they help create. If your expectations fall outside of this range, we still encourage you to apply—our approach to compensation considers a range of factors to ensure alignment with each candidate's unique needs and preferences.
