About the Team:
The Office of the CTO is responsible for ensuring the technical organization runs efficiently, scales effectively, and delivers on ambitious milestones in support of our mission. We serve as technical liaisons across the company – partnering with leaders from nearly every functional area to align product vision and top level goals, translate priorities into executable plans, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and drive organizational development. As a member of this team, you will work at the intersection of technical strategy and operations to improve how our work is planned, communicated, and delivered.
About the Role:
- Technical Operations:
- Own the strategic planning and delivery of high-priority technical programs, serving as the connective tissue between the office of the CTO and cross-functional stakeholders
- Provide analytical support and strategic insights to inform decision making on technical investments, resource allocation, and organizational goals
- External Research & Development Partnerships:
- Establish & drive the full program lifecycle for R&D investments/partnerships - from initial opportunity evaluation and technical scoping to product development, partner engagement, and long-term integration planning
- Serve as the operational and technical liaison to external research institutions, nonprofits, and mission aligned partners—ensuring partnerships are well-structured, mutually beneficial, and technically rigorous
- Develop and maintain program structures, governance models, and reporting frameworks that enable execution at scale and ensure alignment with the company’s technical roadmap
- Technical Strategy:
- Influence organizational direction by synthesizing learnings from internal initiatives & external R&D programs into actionable insights for senior technical leadership
About You:
- Degree in engineering or a related discipline — or demonstrated equivalent experience working in a technical environment
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in program management or product development roles, with a strong track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Experience managing externally facing programs, including partnerships with research institutions, nonprofits, or government entities
- Strong executive presence, including ability to drive clarity and action across all levels of the organization
- Adept at navigating both technical and strategic discussions across a diverse group of stakeholders and teams
- Proven success operating independently in highly ambiguous, dynamic environments—able to bring structure, clarity, and rigor without predefined paths
Nice to haves but not required:
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical or management field
- 10+ years of experience in domains
- Experience in product development from engineering to production with deep knowledge of early development and engineering phases of product lifecycle
