We are seeking a technically strong Staff Software Engineer to join our Intelligent Process Automation team. This individual will provide technical direction, drive platform scalability, and ensure the stability and maturity of our IPA platform.
In this role you will be acting as a Solution Architect, leading the technical strategy and architecture for enterprise-wide automation initiatives. This includes leveraging advanced RPA platforms, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), and AI/ML to reimagine digital workflows.
You will serve as a technical anchor, collaborating with product managers, process owners, infrastructure teams, developers, QA, and support engineers across geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical, architectural direction and mentorship to the IPA engineering team.
- Translate high-level business requirements into scalable architecture artifacts (HLDs, LLDs, integration diagrams, SDDs etc.).
- Architect and scale large-volume IPA solutions capable of processing millions of documents efficiently.
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture for IPA solutions, combining RPA, OCR/IDP, AI/ML, and cloud-native services.
- Lead platform design that is agnostic to specific RPA vendors (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.), ensuring adaptability to future tool changes.
- Optimize performance, throughput, and stability of automation workflows.
- Drive the adoption of AWS cloud-native services for hosting and scaling automation bots.
- Design scalable, reusable automation frameworks for complex business workflows.
- Lead technical feasibility assessments and define automation roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
- Present technical solutions and project updates to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Design and implement API-driven integrations with enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with global teams (Product, Infra, QA, Support) across time zones, ensuring smooth delivery.
- Architect and maintain automation platforms on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, Step Functions, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, and CloudWatch.
- Stay ahead of trends in Gen AI, LLMs, agentic AI, and hyper automation.
- Establish engineering best practices around coding standards, performance tuning, monitoring, and security.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues in production environments.
- Partner with Product and Process Owners to evaluate automation opportunities, design scalable solutions, and balance speed with quality.
- Create dashboards to measure platform KPIs using tools such as OpenSearch, ensuring transparency and accountability in performance metrics.
- Continuously optimize AWS resource usage to reduce the total cost of ownership while maintaining reliability and scale.
- Drive modernization of the tech stack and proactively reduce technical debt to keep the platform efficient and future-ready.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8-12 years of overall software engineering experience.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience as Solution Architect-RPA/IA (UiPath, Automation Anywhere or equivalent).
- Proven track record of building, scaling, and stabilizing IPA systems in production.
- Strong understanding of OCR/IDP technologies (e.g., UiPath Document Understanding, ABBYY, AWS Textract, AWS Bedrock).
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo DB, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP APIs, microservices integration, and event-driven systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java.
- Experience with DevOps tools like Github, Jenkins and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with performance tuning and high-throughput systems.
- Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, and monitoring practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work in distributed, cross-functional global teams.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, fast-changing environments, and proactive problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- UiPath Advanced Developer or Solution Architect certification (or equivalent in other RPA platforms).
- AWS Cloud practitioner certification is highly desired
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven automation workflows.

Estimated Salary Range: $122,000 - $163,800
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
