Staff Program Manager, Data & AISan Diego, Los Angeles, San Mateo, CA

Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead strategic Data and AI initiatives at a global scale. In this role, you will drive complex, cross-functional programs from concept through worldwide deployment, enabling transformative customer experiences and operational excellence. You will partner with diverse teams—product, engineering, design, business operations, marketing, consumer support, legal, and finance—to deliver innovation in data platforms and AI solutions.

How You’ll Lead
  • Own the roadmap and delivery for large-scale, cross-functional Data & AI programs from inception through launch, ensuring measurable business and customer impact.
  • Define, track, and report on KPIs and success metrics, ensuring programs deliver measurable business value, operational efficiency, and customer impact.
  • Align initiatives with organizational strategy and senior leadership priorities, driving clarity on objectives, success criteria, and execution plans.
  • Partner across global teams to integrate diverse viewpoints, build consensus, and deliver optimal program outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, including executive audiences, to provide visibility into progress, risks, and strategic trade-offs.
  • Proactively manage dependencies, risks, and issues, balancing technical feasibility with business needs and driving to closure.
  • Shape and improve delivery processes, applying best practices in agile program management, design/system thinking, and operational excellence.
  • Influence and mentor—guiding peers, leaders, and junior team members while raising the bar for program management practices.
What You’ll Bring
  • 15+ years of program/project management experience delivering enterprise-scale systems or complex software products from kickoff to launch.
  • Deep expertise in program management methodologies, including SDLC, product delivery lifecycle, Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), and scaled program management practices.
  • Hands-on AI program leadership, with proven success in delivering GenAI/agentic AI initiatives, including workflow automation and enterprise-scale adoption.
  • Strong data fluency—understanding of data platforms, integration tools, analytics, and ML/AI technologies to effectively guide program strategy and execution.
  • Exceptional leadership and execution skills—ability to prioritize across multiple initiatives, craft and drive action plans, and resolve ambiguity with calmness and clarity.
  • Executive-ready communication—skilled in presenting complex program objectives, risks, and strategic outcomes to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and conflict resolution expertise, adept at unifying global, cross-functional teams toward shared goals.
  • Expert-level JIRA experience, including building advanced dashboards and metrics for visibility and accountability.
  • Commitment to organizational growth, with experience mentoring junior talent and elevating program management practices.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Change management, business analysis, vendor & partner management, executive communication
  • Tools & Platforms: JIRA, Tableau, Power BI, Domo, Databricks, AWS SageMaker, Azure ML

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. 

In addition, this role

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$173,000$259,400 USD
