Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

Samsara seeks a Staff Product Marketing Manager to own the strategic narrative and go-to-market efforts for its foundational AI messaging. This role serves as the go-to expert on how our customers think, what they care about, and how Samsara can help them lead digital transformation within complex physical operations.

This role will work with the core AI product team to continuously stand up, deploy, and iterate on Samsara’s foundational and differentiated AI capabilities. It will fully own Samsara’s AI platform messaging and partner with executive stakeholders on vision, as well as Core PMM and GTM enablement partners on tactical execution.

Experience with both tactical execution (building the story and partnering with teams to quarterback the plan) and storytelling (presenting the story to executives) is essential. The person in this role will have demonstrated experience holding their own in a room full of executives and synthesizing needs into a powerful, cohesive strategy that shapes how we market our platform. Working across teams—from PM and Engineering to Sales and Events—is critical.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in the U.S.

You should apply if:

  • You want to shape the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, getting food into grocery stores, reducing emissions, and, most importantly, ensuring workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, with countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a high-growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forward creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together, and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.
In this role, you will:
  • Own Samsara’s overall narrative and go-to-market efforts for its AI offering: Lay the foundation of Samsara’s AI messaging and architect and maintain scalable resources. Ensure messaging, naming, and cross-functional alignment by establishing frameworks, driving understanding, and reviewing output.
  • Deliver GTM launches around platform AI features: Act as the core PMM for central AI features.
  • Support sales at the highest level: Join sales conversations as a technical and strategic partner—testing AI messaging, answering questions, and delivering a compelling articulation of value.
  • Drive content and event strategy: Partner to develop experiences for technical buyers and stakeholders at flagship events like Beyond. Shape and lead breakouts for platform and tailored executive experiences.
  • Lead Samsara’s AI thought leadership: Play a central role in bringing the story to market across channels—from events and blogs to campaigns and executive keynotes.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales Engineering to ensure messaging reflects the roadmap, is technically sound, and aligns with field enablement.
  • Lead strategic workstreams: Own and execute high-leverage projects that span technical depth and strategic influence (e.g., platform positioning, API strategy, developer engagement, and competitive differentiation).
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 7+ years in Product Marketing, Solutions Engineering, or Developer Marketing roles, ideally in a deeply technical product or platform environment
  • Proven experience engaging with internal executive stakeholders and external executive buyers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to distill complex ideas into strategic narratives
  • Experience owning cross-functional workstreams and driving them to completion
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS, Engineering, or similar); advanced degree is a plus

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience bringing AI products and capabilities to market
  • The ability to sell technical value and confidently answer technical questions, bringing clarity to complexity
  • A strategic mindset and strong narrative skills—the ability to craft messaging that is insightful, bold, and aligned with business goals
  • Energy derived from executive conversations and relationship-building; AEs want you in the room with their top accounts
  • The ability to thrive in ambiguity and lead without a playbook—self-directed, fast-moving, and outcome-focused

Total Rewards

At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.

Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you’re ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.

Flexible Working

At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual’s ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
