The Opportunity

Guild is hiring a Staff Product Manager to lead the evolution of our Customer Solutions & Delivery product surface—specifically the customization layer that enables Guild to meet customers where they are, without sacrificing scale.

This is a high-impact role for a senior product leader who thrives at the intersection of customer complexity, technical systems, and organizational influence. You'll shape how Guild delivers "last-mile" capabilities to a diverse customer base while creating durable product foundations that unlock growth.

1. Outcomes You'll Be Expected to Achieve:
  • Transform customization from a cost center into a strategic advantage. Define and execute a product vision that enables customer-specific delivery at scale—without dragging down velocity or accumulating technical debt.
  • Accelerate how Guild ships complex, cross-functional initiatives. Establish repeatable practices and delivery patterns that improve execution quality and predictability across Customer Solutions & Delivery.
  • Strengthen Guild's ability to serve enterprise customers. Ensure our customization layer meets the real-world needs of diverse customers while maintaining a modular, extensible foundation that supports future growth.
2. What You'll Do to Achieve These Outcomes:

Own and advance the customization layer strategy

  • Define a long-term product vision for how Guild supports customer-specific needs at scale
  • Turn ambiguity into a coherent strategy that balances flexibility, speed, and maintainability
  • Own the roadmap for Customer Solutions & Delivery, ensuring it ladders to business and customer outcomes

Translate complexity into leverage

  • Partner deeply with GTM teams and customers to understand real-world delivery challenges
  • Break down complex business and technical problems into modular, incremental product solutions
  • Use storytelling and clear frameworks to align stakeholders and accelerate decision-making

Lead through influence

  • Shape product direction across multiple teams without relying on formal authority
  • Influence senior leaders (including VP and C-level) through strong judgment, data, and narrative
  • Build trust across Product, Engineering, Design, GTM, and Customer teams

Be a technical and product thought partner

  • Bring strong technical fluency to architectural discussions and trade-offs
  • Use data, experimentation, and in-app analytics to inform decisions and measure impact
  • Contribute to system design thinking, especially around data models and extensibility

Multiply impact through others

  • Coach and mentor PMs and cross-functional partners
  • Provide actionable feedback that helps others grow their scope, confidence, and effectiveness
  • Model what staff-level product leadership looks like at Guild
3. You're Probably a Strong Candidate If You've…
  • Built or evolved a customization/configuration layer for a B2B platform that had to balance customer flexibility with engineering scalability—and shipped incremental improvements that meaningfully reduced delivery friction or unlocked new use cases
  • Influenced product direction across a complex organization where you didn't have direct authority—aligning GTM, Engineering, and senior leadership around a strategy through strong narrative, data, and relationship-building
  • Partnered directly with enterprise customers or external partners to translate messy real-world requirements into modular product solutions—and used that insight to shape platform strategy, not just one-off features
  • Drove execution improvements that changed how your team or organization ships—whether through better planning practices, delivery frameworks, or cross-functional rituals that stuck
4. Skills and Competencies Needed to Achieve These Outcomes:
  • Strategic product thinking: Ability to define a coherent long-term vision and translate it into an incremental, executable roadmap—especially in ambiguous, technically complex domains
  • Organizational influence: Proven ability to align senior stakeholders (VP/C-level), cross-functional teams, and GTM partners around a shared direction without relying on formal authority
  • Technical fluency: Comfort engaging in system design conversations, familiarity with data models and extensibility patterns, and SQL proficiency for hands-on analysis
  • Customer and GTM partnership: Experience working directly with enterprise customers and go-to-market teams to gather feedback and translate complexity into product opportunities
  • Execution and delivery leadership: Track record of shipping complex initiatives and improving how teams deliver—anticipating risks, unblocking work, and raising the bar on quality
  • Coaching and mentorship: Ability to develop other PMs and cross-functional partners through actionable feedback and by modeling staff-level product leadership

Nice to have:

  • MBA, enterprise consulting, or competitive market research background
  • Experience with portals or systems that support data exchange and customization
  • Genuine interest in UI/UX and analytics

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
