Team Description:

The Profile team is building the future of presence, identity, and reputation on Reddit. Our mission is to turn Reddit Profiles into powerful hubs that help creators and experts express who they are, build trust, and engage meaningfully across the platform.

As Staff Product Manager, Reddit Profiles, you will lead the transformation of Profiles into dynamic spaces where users can showcase their expertise, track their impact, and grow their presence. Profiles on Reddit aren’t about self-promotion—they’re about helping others through your knowledge, skills, and passions.

Whether you’re a voice coach giving feedback in r/singing, a gamer sharing walkthroughs in r/Eldenring, a home DIYer offering build plans in r/woodworking, a journalist breaking down current events in r/news, or a CEO transparently answering product questions in r/technology, your profile should reflect how you support others and contribute across communities. You’ll lead the strategy that brings these identities to life.

Your mission is to unlock Reddit’s ecosystem for creators and experts—designing the systems that elevate their voices, increase their visibility, and encourage deeper, more sustained participation across the platform. You’ll work cross-functionally to ensure Profiles reflect the best of Reddit: authentic, helpful, and rooted in real expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the product vision for Reddit Profiles as the central hub for identity, credibility, and expert participation on Reddit.
  • Build the expert ecosystem on Reddit by amplifying existing power contributors and attracting new voices across verticals like gaming, health, tech, beauty, and media.
  • Drive expert discovery by developing systems that surface trusted voices across communities and make it easier for users to find, follow, and learn from them.
  • Lower the barrier to expert engagement, enabling creators to participate effortlessly, share meaningful insights, and grow their presence over time.
  • Collaborate across teams including Consumer Product, Community, Safety, and Reddit Pro to build a scalable and cohesive profile experience.
  • Champion safety, privacy, and control, ensuring contributors have confidence in how they present themselves and interact on the platform.
  • Use data, research, and experimentation to guide prioritization and measure success through profile visits, expert post engagement, and contributor retention.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience and experience leading 0-1 products
  • Proven experience building product vision, goal setting, strategy and execution
  • Experience shipping B2C/Consumer products that have had meaningful impact (metric and user experience)
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, defining team goals and success metrics
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including a willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into the minutia.
  • Adept in writing detailed product execution and strategy documents with extreme clarity
  • Compelling influencer with great communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to align a diverse group of stakeholders towards a common goal

Benefits:

  • All roles are 100% remote, but we also have offices in SF, LA, NY & Chicago
  • Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits
  • 401k Matching
  • Workspace benefits for your home office
  • Personal & Professional development funds
  • Family Planning Support
  • Flexible Vacation (please use them!) & Reddit Global Wellness Days
  • 4+ months paid Parental Leave
  • Paid Volunteer time off

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
