As a Staff Product Manager for OnStar Services, you will lead and define the direction, architecture, and growth of GM's connected-services ecosystem for retail and fleet customers, including OnStar subscription plans and next-generation service offerings. You'll not simply launch features; you'll own the domain strategy, roadmap, business model, and help steward the product organization's maturity.
This is a high-impact role combining strategic vision and hands-on leadership. You will take ambiguous, high-stakes challenges, drive alignment across engineering, design, legal, marketing, and business functions, and deliver services that scale globally and generate recurring value for GM.

What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end strategy and execution for an OnStar Services domain, aligning customer value, business outcomes (recurring revenue, loyalty, retention) with technology platform evolution.
- Drive and prioritize the multi-year roadmap for services across in-vehicle, mobile, web, and fleet surfaces; ensure the architecture and data platform support scale, monetization, and new business models.
- Lead multiple PM/feature teams (or mentor other PMs) and coordinate cross-functionally to deliver technically complex service launches globally.
- Define, monitor, and drive strategic metrics (e.g., ARPU growth, service attach rate, fleet renewal, platform cost per user) and use data to iterate and drive business model pivots.
- Act as trusted advisor to engineering, legal/privacy, operations, and business leadership; remove cross-organization blockers and make trade-off decisions at the platform/domain level.
- Evangelize the vision of connected services internally and externally, influence senior leadership, partner with external stakeholders (e.g. OEM partners, telematics/data providers) to scale the ecosystem.
- Scan and shape emerging technology trends (e.g., AI/ML, edge-telematics, vehicle data services, usage-based models) and incorporate into roadmap as differentiators.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Core Product Management
- 8+ years of product management experience driving large-scale, complex software or connected-services products (e.g., IoT, SaaS, mobility).
- Proven ability to own a product domain or platform, set multi-year strategy, and deliver high-impact product lines that drive measurable business results.
- Experience mentoring other PMs, establishing best practices, and influencing product standards across teams.
- Strong prioritization and decision-making skills; adept at balancing short-term delivery with long-term strategy.
- This role requires approximately 25% travel.
Connected Services & Subscriptions
- 5+ years working on subscription or usage-based business models, ideally across B2C and B2B domains such as IoT, SaaS, or connected mobility.
- Deep understanding of growth and engagement metrics (adoption, retention, churn, ARPU, NPS) and demonstrated ability to improve them through experimentation and data-driven iteration.
- Familiarity with telematics, connected vehicles, or mobile/IoT ecosystems and how they enable recurring value creation.
Execution & Delivery
- 7+ years leading cross-functional delivery across engineering, design, legal, marketing, and operations in complex, regulated environments.
- Proven track record delivering multi-surface, multi-region products at scale-from concept through launch and lifecycle management.
- Ability to balance trade-offs between customer value, regulatory requirements, technical feasibility, and business objectives.
- Skilled at driving alignment and decision-making across executives and partner organizations, resolving ambiguity through sound judgment.
- Experienced in building the business cases and cross-functional alignment necessary for large-scale product investments.
Customer Focus & Market Insight
- 5+ years leveraging customer research, market analysis, and data to define product strategy and inform prioritization.
- Ability to synthesize insights across retail and fleet audiences into unified, intuitive experiences that differentiate in market.
- Track record of representing the "voice of the customer" in shaping domain strategy and influencing design direction.
Business, Communication & Compliance
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in pricing, packaging, and go-to-market planning for digital or subscription services.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives that integrate vision, strategy, and technical depth for executive audiences.
- Experienced collaborating with legal, privacy, and compliance teams to design products that meet regulatory and data-governance requirements while maintaining user trust.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- MBA or advanced technical degree (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science).
- Experience operating in automotive, telematics, IoT, or mobility environments at global scale.
- Deep familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, and other regulated frameworks relevant to connected services.
- Experience applying advanced analytics or AI/ML to personalize, predict, or optimize connected-service offerings.
- Demonstrated ability to scale organizations or influence product practices beyond your direct scope (e.g., mentoring PMs, leading product councils).

- The salary range for this role is $178,100 - $274,300. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
