The Company

Medely is a high-growth series-C technology start-up reimagining the future of healthcare work by providing an on-demand marketplace and workforce management tools. With the support of top-tier investors, Medely has quickly become a go-to platform for healthcare professionals to instantly access high-paying jobs with the freedom and flexibility to work when and where they want.

As a fully remote team of sharp, collaborative, and entrepreneurial individuals, we are dedicated to redefining the way healthcare workers and facilities work together to provide for patients. We are looking for passionate and skilled professionals to join our team and help us take on tough challenges in this fast-expanding healthcare industry segment.

Join us in our mission to transform the healthcare staffing industry and improve patient lives!

The Role

Medely’s vision to transform healthcare is realized when professionals (supply) seamlessly connect with facilities (demand) through our on-demand marketplace. As a Staff Product Manager, you will own the strategy and execution for both marketplace efficiency and pricing infrastructure, ensuring our platform scales effectively while maintaining strong unit economics. While this role covers both areas, priorities may shift over time based on business needs, requiring adaptability in strategy, execution, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key focus areas include:

Marketplace Optimization – Improving fill rates, match quality, and facility retention by leveraging pricing, incentives, and intelligent matching strategies.

Rate Infrastructure & Compliance – Managing the systems that set and enforce rate policies, including minimum rates by market and position, ensuring compliance with state wage laws including overtime rules.

You will be responsible for answering critical business questions, such as:

  1. How do we ensure pricing and pay rates align with local market dynamics while driving marketplace liquidity?

  2. How should we structure and automate rate settings to scale across thousands of market+position combinations?

  3. How can we ensure compliance with state wage laws, overtime rules, and fair pay practices without adding operational overhead?

  4. What pricing levers can we use to improve fill rates while maintaining facility engagement?

You will be a key thought leader, working across engineering, data science, design, sales, legal, and operations to build scalable solutions that balance supply and demand, enhance rate intelligence, and drive sustainable marketplace growth.

Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving infrastructure-heavy challenges alongside marketplace dynamics, and is comfortable shifting focus between Marketplace Optimization and Rate Infrastructure & Compliance as business priorities evolve.

What you will do:

  • Understand the needs of healthcare professionals, facilities and, and the business to define your product area's vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Own and lead the end-to-end product development process of major features and iterations, including creating high-quality PRDs, and working closely with engineering, design, data science and business stakeholders to bring world-class products to market.

  • Monitor and measure launched products and feed insights back into the product development process.

  • Own your numbers, drive your cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals - challenging all members to think ambitiously and creatively - and overachieve them.

  • Develop vision and strategy for the team, and rally all cross-functional team members. Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair our ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

  • Clearly communicate product plans, benefits, and results to stakeholders.

What we are seeking:

  • 7-10+ year's product management experience shipping software used by hundreds of thousands of users. Experience working on a Marketplace business and Operations teams is a plus.

  • Passion to closely engage with engineers, designers, and data scientists to launch impactful  products

  • Strong customer compassion and the ability to blend user research with data & business needs to build a prioritized product roadmap.

  • Data-driven. You always get the data you need with SQL, and you can distill it into an insightful story. Most importantly, you use data to drive strategic decisions

  • Technical skills. Have the ability to inform and evaluate engineering decisions and communicate actionable insights with the technical team

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated urgency. The ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment where continuous innovation is desired

  • Ownership. A willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager/owner mentality

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
