The Growth team at Discord is responsible for creating exceptional experiences that retain new and resurrected users. We build features that bring delight both within Discord and beyond via web, email, and notifications; connecting people to conversations and friendships that matter to them.

We're looking for a Product Manager reporting to our Growth Product Lead to join us and lead our off platform presence. You will be responsible for creating a vision, building systems and features, and ideating creative solutions to help connect people to the right communities and conversations through effective web experiences, with the ultimate goal of driving user engagement and growth.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Guide the product philosophy, vision, and roadmap for Discord’s search engine optimization (SEO), connecting people to valuable content and conversations on Discord.
  • Lead cross-functional execution with a team of Engineers, Designers, ML engineers, and Data Scientists, partnerships, legal, policy to build delightful product experiences that scale to hundreds of millions of users
  • Drive improvements to our experimentation and web infrastructure to ensure high quality, relevant, and timely web experiences with measurable impact.
  • Partner with other product teams across Discord, such as Developer Platform, ML, and more to enable relevant experiences for people that play games.
  • Independently make decisions for your product area, gain buy-in from leadership, and act as a momentum catalyst for your execution team.
  • Clearly communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive levels.
  • Define and own performance against key engagement metrics.

What you should have

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, excited about finding solutions to complex problems, and then executing on them
  • 7+ years of experience building and shipping great software, including responsibilities driving prioritization, trade-offs, and timelines
  • Proven track record of impact through solving challenging user experience problems at scale
  • Strong analytical ability to quickly organize and leverage data (including writing SQL) to make informed product decisions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and effectiveness working closely with engineers on both platform infrastructure and user-facing features
  • Strong product sense and pride in understanding your customers' needs around web experiences and engagement
  • Experience working on SEO, GEO, or other top of funnel growth focused features.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.

  • Experience working on communication, social, or community platforms.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical experience
  • Experience working on international/localization problems
  • Passion for Discord and gaming


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000 to $279,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available.
