Compensation Range: $160,000 to $190,000 base plus bonus and equity

What We Do:

Huntress is a fully remote, global team of passionate experts and ethical badasses on a mission to break down the barriers to cybersecurity. Whether creating purpose-built security solutions, hunting down hackers, or impacting our community, our people go above and beyond to change the security game and make a real difference.

Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress protects all businesses—not just the 1%—with enterprise-grade, fully owned, and managed cybersecurity products at the price of an affordable SaaS application. The Huntress difference is our One Team advantage: our technology is designed with our industry-defining Security Operations Center (SOC) in mind and is never separated from our service.

We protect 4M+ endpoints and 7M+ identities worldwide, elevating underresourced IT teams with protection that works as hard as they do. As long as hackers keep hacking, Huntress keeps hunting.

What You'll Do:

As a Staff Product Manager for Data, you will be a strategic leader responsible for defining and driving the next generation of our internal data platform and data products. You will own the vision for how Huntress leverages data to make key business decisions, power internal operations, and enable seamless, self-service data via intuitive interfaces powered by AI. You’ll collaborate directly with leadership, the data team, and cross-functional partners to execute a high-impact data strategy. This is an opportunity to leave a lasting mark by taking a robust, governed, and scalable data ecosystem from good to great.

You will partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, SOC, and Support to build a scalable data platform that not only stores information but also serves as a differentiator for the business. By defining the roadmap for our data engineering function, you will optimize for business value by enabling self-service and developing awesome data products.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for crafting a visionary product roadmap for the internal data platform, data services, and semantic layer to ensure consistent and reliable data access across the business.
  • Act as the primary technical consultant and translator between data and engineering teams and the rest of the business, articulating complex data concepts into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for C-level executives.
  • Lead the technical vision and roadmap for data quality and governance, establishing robust frameworks and processes to ensure data integrity and proactively address systemic issues in the data lifecycle.
  • Collect internal customer feedback using interviews and direct conversations to assess data needs, identify pain points, and turn them into applicable requirements for new data products and platform features.
  • Lead and drive momentum in cross-functional team meetings, ensuring data projects are prioritized and stay on track, fostering a collaborative environment for data adoption and excellence.
  • Collaborate with Product Management teams across the organization to identify opportunities for data to enhance existing products and explore new data-driven offerings.

What You Bring To The Team:

In addition to out-of-the-box thinking, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a high degree of autonomy and accountability, we look for:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in product management, with a minimum of 3+ years focused on data, data platforms, business intelligence, or analytics products within the technology or cybersecurity industry.
  • 5+ years of experience as a product owner in a sprint environment where you are responsible for managing the roadmap, prioritizing the backlog, and balancing short, medium, and long-term priorities.
  • You are an admitted data nerd who stays up on the latest trends.
  • Track record of developing and executing on innovative product strategies and roadmaps for internal or external data platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Sigma, Hex, etc) and a strong understanding of data modeling principles (e.g., star schemas). Direct hands-on expertise is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of the full product life cycle: Strategic Planning, Requirements, Architecture, Design, Testing, Deployment, and Operations.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to articulate complex technical ideas to both highly technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives, and drive consensus.
  • Experience with financial, go-to-market (Sales/Marketing), and operational data domains, including the handling of sensitive PII and board-level reporting.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application in data products, including an understanding of LLMs and prompt engineering principles.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent deep industry experience.

What We Offer:

  • 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015
  • Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans
  • 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution
  • Life and Disability insurance plans
  • Stock options for all full-time employees
  • One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office
  • Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance
  • $75 USD/month digital reimbursement
  • Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
