What You’ll Do:

Architect, Build, and Scale Systems

  • Lead design and implementation of core systems that are critical to Clearco’s growth and customer impact

  • Define and uphold architectural patterns that balance scalability, maintainability, and delivery speed

  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies where they improve business or developer outcomes

Drive Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering leads, product managers, and stakeholders to shape product direction

  • Break down complex technical problems and help cross-functional teams deliver cohesive solutions

  • Foster alignment on engineering best practices across teams

Lead Through Influence

  • Act as a force multiplier: mentor engineers, drive technical excellence, and lead design reviews

  • Set high standards for code quality, system resilience, and security

  • Influence engineering culture through thought leadership and hands-on guidance

Own the End-to-End Lifecycle

  • Champion CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness

  • Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term fixes for reliability

  • Take ownership of platform performance, cost efficiency, and technical debt management

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Expertise designing and building scalable distributed systems and backend services

  • Deep understanding of API design, data modeling, and systems architecture

  • Strong coding abilities in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or equivalent

  • Proficiency with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

  • Experience working in cloud environments (preferably GCP)

  • Effective communication with experience influencing technical direction at the organizational level

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Experience leading technical strategy or major platform migrations

  • Familiarity with our stack: TypeScript, Node.js, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, GCP

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD tooling, and infrastructure-as-code

  • A security-first mindset and familiarity with modern authentication, encryption, and secure-by-design principles
