This temporary position is located in 3600 Samarcand Road Jackson Springs 27281 - Moore County. This position is assigned to the Department of Public Safety - JJ Administration.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $34.16 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Management Preferences:
The Staff Development Specialist serves as a liaison for the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention with on-site presence at Samarcand Training Academy and other Commission approved training locations for the Division's Basic Training School Programs. The position serves as a direct point of contact with Samarcand Administrators for daily operations when the division's Criminal Justice School Director is not available. The Staff Development Specialist provides immediate assistance with course instruction and urgent on-site matters for business continuity supporting functional supervision of trainees, instructors, and professional lecturers.
Job Duties:
- Assist the Division's Criminal Justice School Director in the administration of certified criminal justice training programs.
- Maintain operational continuity in the absence of the School Director when delegated authority is assigned.
- Providing functional supervision of day-to-day operations during course offerings.
- Coordinate classroom scheduling, facilities usage, and training logistics.
- Ensure training facilities, equipment, and instructional materials meet program requirements.
- Communicating course schedule changes and confirming availability of instructional materials and equipment.
- Assist instructors with administrative requirements associated with course delivery.
- Notify the Criminal Justice School Director and other stakeholders of discrepancies and/or deficiencies.
- Support onsite training operations as directed.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in a progressive training or teaching role or one year of experience in a human service, counseling, or training program in the subject matter specified; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
