About Suno

We're building the world's first creative entertainment platform, where the entire world can feel the joy and fulfillment of making music. Music is for everyone: Our users include everyone from grandmothers creating songs for their loved ones, to Grammy winners using Suno Studio, our power tool, to make the most popular hits in the world.

Suno is the fastest growing consumer entertainment company and the leader in AI music. We are backed by leading investors including Bond Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, IVP, Forerunner, Union Square Ventures, Alkeon, Quiet, Matrix Partners, Schroders Capital and, NVentures (venture arm of NVIDIA).

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior / Staff Detection & Response Engineer to design and own how we detect and respond to threats across our environment — the telemetry, the detections, the playbooks, and the on-call rotation. This is a hands-on senior role for an engineer who wants to build detection and response the right way from the ground up and own it end to end.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and build our detection and telemetry pipeline, including logging coverage, the detection stack, and the data that feeds it.

  • Write high-signal detections mapped to the threats that matter most, starting with the paths that lead to a breach: identity, access, the cloud control plane, and data exfiltration.

  • Build and own incident response — playbooks, on-call, live response, and post-incident reviews that make us better each time.

  • Partner with security and platform engineering to close telemetry gaps and instrument what isn’t yet visible.

  • Set the bar for detection-as-code and a metrics-driven approach to response.

  • Build detection for AI-specific abuse and threats and novel attack patterns as they emerge.

  • Leverage AI to augment yourself so you can focus on the critical work that only you can do.

What You’ll Need
  • 6+ years in detection and response, including building detection capability and setting direction — not only operating an established one.

  • Strong AWS-native detection depth (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC/flow logs, and the broader ecosystem).

  • A detection-as-code, engineering-first mindset.

  • Calm, structured, and decisive in a live incident.

  • Interest in detecting emerging AI/ML abuse and threat patterns.

  • Nice to have: Consumer product at scale, experience as an early or founding detection hire, exposure to AI/ML abuse or platform-abuse signals.

Perks & Benefits for Full-Time Employees
  • Company Equity Package

  • 401(k) with 3% Employer Match & Roth 401(k)

  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance (PPO w/ HSA & FSA options)

  • 11 Paid Holidays + Unlimited PTO & Sick Time

  • 16 Weeks of Paid Parental Leave

  • Creative Education Stipend

  • Generous Commuter Allowance

  • In-Office Lunch (5 days per week)

Additional Notes:

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

  • This role requires working onsite at one of our three offices.

Compensation
  • $230,000 to 330,000

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
