About the Role

Dandy is hiring a Staff Data Scientist to lead the Customer function, owning the data science strategy for the entire customer lifecycle. This is a critical leadership role where you will be responsible for providing the insights and models that power our commercial success, from initial lead generation to long-term customer retention and growth. As a player-coach, you will manage and mentor two senior data scientists (one focused on Revenue, one on GTM) while tackling our most complex and impactful business challenges. You will be a key partner to leadership across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Account Management.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute the data science roadmap for the entire customer journey, including lead generation, marketing efficiency, funnel optimization, churn, and net revenue retention (NRR).

  • Act as the subject matter expert for our sales data, building scalable analytics and models to empower the entire commercial organization.

  • Develop and deploy mission-critical models for lead scoring, churn prediction, and revenue forecasting.

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of senior data scientists, setting a high bar for analytical rigor and business impact.

  • Partner directly with executive leadership to provide strategic recommendations backed by data.

  • Establish and own the measurement frameworks for customer health, sales funnel performance, and marketing ROI.

Who You Are

  • Extensive experience (6+ years) in a senior or lead data science role with a focus on commercial/customer analytics (Sales/ Customer Success).

  • A proven track record of building and deploying models that have had a measurable impact on business outcomes.

  • Strong communication skills and experience communicating results in a way that drives change. You have the ability to use data to inform, align, and lead

  • Prior experience managing or formally mentoring other data scientists.

  • Exceptional ability to influence senior business stakeholders and translate complex data into a clear, actionable narrative.

  • Excellent SQL & Python skills

  • Strong senses of autonomy and ownership

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and statistical skills

  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver value is cross-functional setting

Bonus Points If...

  • Experience working with a B2B sales pipeline and revenue data at a company like Shopify, Amazon, Uber, Lyft, Instacart, or the like.

  • Strong customer empathy, particularly for dentists

  • Have experience turning vague business problems into statistical rigorous analyses & solutions (e.g. causal inference, predictive modeling)

  • Interest in working and learning in an earlier stage company where we’re still working out some of the basics

  • Experience in Looker, Hex, and dbt

  • You have deep expertise in analyzing sales funnels and working with complex CRM data (Salesforce is a strong plus).
