What You’ll Do:
The Expert Business Systems Engineer serves as a strategic thought partner to Finance, Accounting, and Treasury leadership driving the design, scalability, and modernization of the company’s financial systems ecosystem.
This role requires a strong balance of business acumen and technical depth someone who can translate strategic financial objectives into cohesive ERP solutions that span Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Treasury, Consolidation, and Compliance domains.
You will lead cross-functional system initiatives, influence architecture decisions, and drive automation and process excellence that enable accurate, compliant, and efficient financial operations across entities and geographies.
About the role:
- Serve as the domain authority across Finance and Accounting systems aligning ERP design (primarily NetSuite, with integrations to Salesforce, Workday, and Treasury platforms) to global business processes.
- Define and maintain the Finance Systems blueprint encompassing GL, AP, AR, Revenue Recognition, Fixed Assets, Tax, Intercompany, Consolidation, and Treasury.
- Partner with business leaders to define scalable process design for multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-book accounting environments.
- Drive continuous improvement and system simplification in support of close acceleration, audit readiness, and real-time reporting.
- Introduce AI and automation capabilities (e.g., predictive reconciliation, anomaly detection, intelligent matching, and AI-assisted close tasks) to reduce manual effort and accelerate financial cycles.
- Lead system design for General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, Period Close automation, Intercompany Eliminations, and Consolidation logic.
- Optimize reporting and reconciliation processes via NetSuite ARM, SuiteAnalytics, and data warehouse integrations.
- Partner with Treasury to enhance cash visibility, forecasting, and virtual account structures.
- Design integrations between ERP and bank systems (e.g., JPM, Citi, or SVB) for payment automation, statement ingestion (MT940/BAI2), and daily cash reconciliation.
- Support investment accounting, debt management, and bank fee analysis automation
- Define the system flow from Customer Order to Revenue Recognition, ensuring alignment across Salesforce, Billing, and NetSuite.
- Partner with SalesOps and RevOps to enable subscription billing, usage-based models, and ASC 606 compliance.
- Partner with Finance leadership on SOX 404, Audit, and Policy standardization.
- Ensure configuration governance through Strongpoint or equivalent change control platforms.
- Drive cross-domain system initiatives that span multiple business functions ensuring traceability from quote-to-cash to close.
- Represent IT in strategic Finance transformation programs influencing leadership on prioritization, design decisions, and change adoption.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree or CPA preferred.
- 15+ years of experience implementing and managing ERP financial systems (NetSuite, SAP, Workday Financials, Oracle Cloud, or similar).
- Deep functional understanding of Accounting, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Revenue, and Controls.
- Proven experience designing global, multi-entity ERP landscapes and integrations with CRM, Billing, Treasury, and BI platforms.
- Experience leading system migration, consolidation, or transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX requirements.
The base salary range for this role is $161,000 to $237,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).
