The Business Resilience Manager is not just a protector of systems—you are a guardian of competitive advantage for the #1 prop firm. In high-stakes, fast-moving markets, every second of platform uptime is critical to our traders' success.  This role owns the mission of building and maturing the business resilience programs (BIA, BCP, DR, and Crisis Management) that guarantee best in class operational availability. You will move beyond mere compliance to establish robust governance, rigorous testing, and clear recovery policies that safeguard our trading platform, infrastructure, and crucial data. 

Your efforts are essential in preventing disruptions that could cost our traders opportunities, directly solidifying Topstep’s reputation as the most trusted and reliable platform in the industry.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Business Impact Assessment (BIA) Program:
    • Establish, maintain, and drive the firm-wide BIA methodology and program to accurately identify critical business processes, required resources, maximum tolerable downtime (MTD), and recovery time objectives (RTOs).
    • Develop and implement standardized tools and templates to collect, document, and report BIA data in a manner that satisfies both regulatory and internal management requirements.
  • Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Governance:
    • Design, implement, and maintain the governance framework for the development, documentation, and maintenance of all BCPs across the organization.
    • Develop and manage the BCP exercise program, including table-top simulations and functional tests, ensuring plans are viable, current, and effectively communicated.
  • Disaster Recovery (DR) Governance:
    • Establish and maintain the governance framework for the development, documentation, and maintenance of technology and infrastructure Disaster Recovery Plans.
    • Develop and manage the DR exercise and testing program to validate the firm's ability to recover critical IT systems within established RTOs.
  • Data Backup & Recovery:
    • Collaborate with Technology/IT Operations teams to help establish and enforce clear policies, standards, and validation procedures for data backup and system recovery across the enterprise.

Crisis Management

  • Crisis Management Leadership:
    • Serve as a key owner and driver for the corporate Crisis Management Program, including plan development, maintenance, and training.
    • Coordinate and facilitate crisis management exercises and live events, ensuring timely and effective communication, decision-making, and resource mobilization during a disruption.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting 

  • Stay current on relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., operational resilience, cyber resilience) and translate these requirements into actionable program elements.
  • Prepare and present program status reports, compliance evidence, and performance metrics to executive management and regulatory bodies.

Training & Awareness

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training and awareness materials on business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management to all relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Operational Risk, or IT Resilience, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Proven experience establishing and managing large-scale, enterprise-wide programs (e.g., BIA, BCP, DR).
  • Foundational understanding of IT infrastructure, data backup/recovery concepts, and systems necessary to manage DR governance.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory expectations for operational and technology resilience relevant to financial institutions (e.g., FFIEC, ISO 27001, SOC 2, Type II).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, including C-suite executives.

New Hire Base Salary Range

  • $180,000-$220,000
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
  • The compensation offered will take into account internal compensation structure and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
