What You'll Do
- Own Day-to-Day Accounting Operations: Prepare with general ledger transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and daily bank transactions.
- Monthly Closing and Reporting: Prepare journal entries and help maintain financial reports, statements, and ledger accounts with guidance from more senior accountants.
- Implement Procedures and Controls: Evaluate finance operations, and recommend and implement control procedures, including automation and streamlining measures for scalability.
- Leverage Technical Tools: Utilize accessible tools to minimize human error and expedite manual tasks in alignment with the company's focus.
- Gain Experience with SaaS Accounting: Learn about SaaS-specific accounting principles (e.g., revenue recognition, capitalizing software development costs) through hands-on experience and mentorship.
- Audit Support and External Relations: Assist with audits, and foster relationships with external partners like audit firms and financial institutions.
- Ensure tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, considering the evolving implications of a growing remote business, including state and federal tax regulations, nexus considerations, and sales tax compliance.
- Teamwork and Growth: Contribute to projects within the FP&A & Revenue Operations teams and pursue opportunities to grow your skill set over time.
What Skills You'll Need
- Education: BS in Accounting, or related field
- Experience: 2-4 years in an accounting role, preferably within the Tech or SaaS industry, Familiarity with GAAP, specifically, ASC 606
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling, automation tools); experience with NetSuite ERP or similar financial software preferred.
- Core Competencies: Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Work Eligibility: Authorized to work in the US (sponsorship not available).
