We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day accounting operations within a fast-paced health care environment. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience with a strong accounting foundation, experience in health care or corporate settings, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts, resolving discrepancies and communicating with stakeholders as needed.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and necessary documentation.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both electronic and physical.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and health care–specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines, cost reporting).
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data, resolve discrepancies, and provide accounting support.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate’s degree with relevant experience considered).
- 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally in the health care industry or a corporate setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations).
- Solid understanding of GAAP and familiarity with health care–specific accounting practices and regulations (HIPAA, CMS guidelines, cost reporting).
- Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn new systems and processes.
- Must be able to commute daily to Playa Vista, CA (on-site role).
