Job Summary

Impiricus is hiring for a Staff Accountant who’s detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow. This is a high-impact role reporting or working directly with the CFO (and reporting into the controller). This person will support all aspects of accounting, account receivable and payable management, financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as management of internal accounting policies and process improvement.


Duties/ Responsibilities: 

  • Own day-to-day general ledger activity and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare and post journal entries, manage month-end close, perform account reconciliations
  • Support preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes 
  • Manage  accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
  • Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., tax, audit, board reporting)
  • Assist with budget to actual variances analysis and rolling forecast, working directly with FP&A team
  • Support implementation and refinement of accounting policies and internal controls
  • Contribute to automation and process improvements to streamline reporting and accuracy, including system implementations
  • Coordinate filings with regulatory agencies

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience; public accounting experience is a plus 
  • CPA or progress toward certification a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls 
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Experience with accounting software (Quickbooks, NetSuite, Sage)Attention to detail
  • Detailed-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Process mindset is a must
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in startup environment a plus
