About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable cycles, assisting with budget preparation, expense tracking, client invoicing, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to handle challenges and tight deadlines with professionalism, and manage multiple accounts efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about financial management and to contribute significantly to the financial integrity and success of our firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of accounting: billing, financial statements, general edger, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, expense reconciliation and various special analysis and projects.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Support month-end, quarterly and year-end financial statements.
  • Assist with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive financial information and metrics to executive management necessary to monitor financial performance of the company.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold the integrity of financial data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the financial services or investment banking industry.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Excel Expense Reconciliation Software - Concur and Expensify are a big plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate all internal and external audit procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities (ability to meet assigned due dates)Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
