Staff Accountant
Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills to best support the accounting team. In this role, you will be performing a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to, posting invoices, making deposits, going on cash runs, responding to vendor requests, and assisting with chargebacks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with cash management for assigned F&B Outlets
- Posts daily sales, cash deposits, and bank transfers
- Prepares daily cash deposits and handles petty cash
- Providing change for staff
Accounts Payable Functions:
- Post invoices and reconcile vendor statements
- Prepares allocations for multi-location invoices
- Selects checks for weekly check run
- Works with third-party accounts payable company to reconcile vendor accounts
- Responds to any immediate vendor requests
General Duties:
- Assists with general accounting inquiries
- Assists with ad-hoc project
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with Craftable, Sage, LightSpeed, and Profitsword is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills
- Minimum of 2 years accounting experience, and must have experience with hospitality industry
- Understanding of F&B operations
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
