Job Summary
Staff Accountant to analyze the Company’s and other financial information as well as prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.

Staff Accountant’s responsibilities will go beyond compiling and analyzing financial information for account entry. Staff Accountant will document important business transactions; help develop, maintain and implement accounting best practices and control procedures; review and analyze budgets and expenditures to improve the Company’s fiscal performance; and monitor the performance of accounting and related reports for accuracy and completeness.

Staff Accountant will help the Company and Accounting Department provide quality patient care and ensure the proper implementation of its services, policies, and programs. Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to present meaningful reports to Company managers and help them analyze various Company programs and policies. Due to the diversity of responsibilities of the role, the Staff Accountant will be a competent and resourceful individual with a passion for accounting.

Responsibilities and Duties
Essential Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules per the monthly close schedule
  • Prepare and review budgets, revenue and expense reports, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends, recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure proper expense management
  • Analyze revenues, commissions, and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and report major discrepancies
  • Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors, and clients
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Recommend, develop, and maintain financial databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems
  • Cooperate with internal and external auditors to complete audits
  • Report any issues, which may affect cash flow, expenses, and balances
  • Assist with the collections process and managing Medicare denials
  • Comply with Company rules, policies, and procedures
  • Comply with all applicable safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Report to work regularly and on-time

  • Support other accounting staff, as needed
  • Assume other duties as assigned

  • Lifting of boxes and light equipment up to 20 pounds

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Two years of high-volume accounting and/or finance experience
  • Knowledge of effective auditing practices and principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and familiarity implementing accounting practices and principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Effective oral, written, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to gather and analyze information in a timely and skillful manner
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Resourceful, problem-solving attitude

Workplace Environment
The job will primarily be working in the Company’s Resource Center, at 774 S. Placentia Ave., Placentia, CA 92870. This office environment has no unusual exposures, but safety precautions must be taken at all times.

Salary Range: $25.00 to $32.00
