This role resides within the Experience Design team for Connected Services, which includes mobile and web applications for MyQ Residential and Business Access Solutions. The Senior UX writer is responsible for all in-product copy across the myQ ecosystem. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) have a passion for user-centered experiences; (ii) author clear and concise copy that maximizes engagement and minimizes confusion and errors; (iii) establish a distinct and consistent brand voice; (iv) appropriately balance emotional vs functional communication; (v) communicate effectively across different contexts and audiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Write in-product copy which includes but is not limited to: headlines, body copy, microcopy, names for products and services, navigational nomenclature, terminology, etc.
Write new copy, maintain existing copy and expand beyond words to larger content design solutions
Closely collaborate with the larger product team by presenting well-informed points of view while remaining open to feedback and iteration.
Participate and/or conduct user research to ensure effective content development
Make data-informed recommendations based on analytics, deep product knowledge and business objectives
Develop the myQ brand voice for all digital products
Author, maintain and govern copy guidelines to ensure a consistent brand voice with strong direction for non-writers on how to tailor content.
Drive copy consistency efforts across the organization. Coordinate with creatives and marketers to ensure omnichannel consistency
Conduct content audits and quality analyses to identify gaps and areas for improvement
Deliver impactful presentations at all levels of an organization
Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications:
UX Design or Writing Certifications or other professional level training
Experience:
4+ years of proven writing experience for websites and applications, preferably for mobile apps.
Portfolio of writing and content samples that demonstrate user-focused writing samples, brand and copy guidelines and tone of voice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
North American English fluency
Excellent writing, spelling and understanding of grammar
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Developing copy treatments for user research
Basic competency with design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD
Collaboration with cross-functional product team members such as designers, engineers and product managers
Other:
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
Education/Certifications:
BS/BA degree in English, Journalism, Writing, Literature, Communications, Human-centered Design or other related fields
Experience:
5+ years of writing end-user facing UX copy for multi-channel digital ecosystems including mobile and desktop applications, software and websites.
Authored and maintained a brand voice, copy guidelines and standards.
Agency copywriting experience
Content design going beyond copy to include imagery, audio, video, interactive or other communication devices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Flexible, versatile writing across different channels, content formats and users
Structuring and executing user research to develop copy recommendations
Creating a brand voice and copy guidelines
Have a long-term perspective as well as incremental steps to get there
Connecting work to the broader context of customer needs and business goals

The pay range/rate of pay for this position is $77,200.00 - $145,600.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
