Job Description
 

Gilead's Global Logistics organization under Pharmaceutical Manufacturing is looking for a Sr. Supply Chain Specialist. This role will be on-site at our La Verne, CA site.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works on problems of a diverse scope, where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Provides global business process, data flow, and documentation support. Develops and implements appropriate business documentation.

  • Provides supervision, technical support, training and guidance to less experienced colleagues. Plans daily tasks, prioritizes and schedules activities.

  • Responsible for conducting performance reviews

  • Contributes to the development of complex new concepts, techniques, and standards.

  • Work across organizational, cultural and geographic boundaries to optimize company strategic results.

  • Ensures GMP compliance and safe work practices, including current and correct SOPs.

  • Analyzes systems and processes and impact on business performance. Develops tools needed to support division Center of Excellence Service Teams action.

  • Introduces and integrates new technologies and/or new processes, as needed. Supports and develops inventory level tactics to support business goals.

  • May assist in the development of operational functional requirements and business process flow architecture of ERP functions and features, in support of Gilead’s existing and future business plans.

  • Assists with the preparation of project plans, and manages projects to successful and timely completion.

  • Supports the execution of supply chain planning initiatives to achieve departmental targets.

  • Reviews and approves non-routine documents, or documents affecting budgets or timelines, such as work orders, contracts, purchase orders, material transfer requests.

  • Uses approved methods to make decisions in line with company goals and objectives, e.g. transfer or delivery of inventory, production and purchasing schedules, selection of suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Five Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Three Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in related field and/or a BS or BA; or
    2+ years of relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA

  • Possesses good planning and organizational skills coupled with strong communication, time management skills, and aptitude for working with computer systems to plan and manage supply chain requirements.

  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards along with an in-depth knowledge of industry practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving capability.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of business operating systems, DRP, production scheduling, SAP/Oracle/DB2/Access databases, and Excel, its uses and functions, and business need’s and developments.

  • Able to develop solutions to a wide range of moderately complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.

  • Proficient in ERP system software, with emphasis in the Operations / Supply Chain functionality.

  • Knowledgeable in cGMP operations functionality.

The salary range for this position is: $107,185.00 - $138,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
