Sr. SQL Software Engineer

Point & Pay- Must be in Florida

What you'll be doing:

  • Translate business requirements and use cases into functional applications
  • Timely and effective response to all system alerts and outages.
  • Identify and implement SQL Reporting and SQL Scripting changes to improve report delivery and execution. Including working with Business Analysts and Developers to manage reports and client requests
  • Identification and creation of SQL reporting improvements to reduce support case volume.
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable database/scripting code releases
  • Review, test, and verify code for adherence to quality and security standards
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Assist in the maintenance of code quality and organization
  • Assist in the design and use of automated unit and integration testing
  • Provide guidance and technical support to team members

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training
  • 5 years of experience designing/writing/implementing systems with a relational database such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • 3+ years supporting SQL Production Reporting Services
  • Strong working knowledge of MS SQL: Scripting, SSRS
  • Troubleshooting database and server (OS, config) incidents and identifying resolution
  • 5 years of experience writing automated unit tests.
  • 5 years of experience in the design and development of complex Web Systems.
  • Experience with secure software development
  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST)
  • Experience with high-availability online transaction processing

Technologies Required:

  • Monitoring Tools: examples include - New Relic, Dynatrace, Site24x7, WhatsUpGold
  • Operating Systems and Log Management: Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server including working with logs and OS settings
  • Apache Tomcat v9+ and configuration file is a plus
  • DNS, Firewall, Network experience to assist in troubleshooting
  • Production Deployment/Database Code-Release experience required
  • Jira and Confluence 
  • Familiar with FTP services and Linux
