Position Summary

Position requires a dynamic, self-driven team member with experience working in a manufacturing environment. The Sourcing Specialist will be an integral part of Supply Chain Team and will work closely with Supplier Quality, Buyers and Sourcing Specialists to execute a time-sensitive cost reduction strategy for purchased parts.

Will support the development, enhancement, validation and sourcing for various purchased commodities to support our Sustaining Platforms and New Product Introduction. Will be responsible for developing and/or maintaining cost reduction and cost tracking activities. This person will have the opportunity to develop his/her unique skills and innovate as well as take on expanded roles to capitalize on his/her potential.

Principal Activities

  • Identify, develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers
  • Manage transfers (supplier to supplier, outsourcing) and various project in collaboration with engineering and quality
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all sectors of the enterprise
  • Launch and manage procurement activity across transition suppliers
  • Process oriented to ensure sustained improvement
  • Monitor and continuously improve suppler performance against contractual standards (KPIs)
  • Ability to understand and deploy Long Term Agreements
  • Secure commitment from suppliers in terms of quality, cost and delivery
  • Implement and maintain Long Term Agreements and Purchasing Agreements with key suppliers
  • Lead various sourcing projects and transfers based on internal procedures and within assigned commodities
  • Estimates costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements pertaining to New Product Introductions for Costing purposes
  • Launch procurement activity, conduct follow-up to ensure that OTD/Quality Performance objectives are achieved
  • Implement cost reduction plans with suppliers by challenging existing portfolios
  • Responsible for supplier visits to better understand manufacturing processes and identify areas for efficiency improvement and cost reduction
  • Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of technological developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturing
  • Work with Design Engineering in their review of part cost drivers (features, tolerances)
  • Work at fast pace to review/validate cost models
  • Actively contribute to supplier qualification, selection, and on-going evaluation

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Technical understanding of machining/manufacturing, inspection, and various special processes used in Aerospace Industry;
  • Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems;
  • Blue print reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
  • Experience as a procurement agent
  • Excellent Leadership Skills
  • Strong Data Analytical skills (Good understanding of the ability to analyze suppliers cost drivers/performance drivers)
  • Strong Negotiation sills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good problem solving and reasoning abilities
  • Self-motivated, requiring low levels of supervision
  • Good time-management and self-organization skills
  • Flexibility (to accommodate various international time zones)
  • Ability to achieve challenging goals under pressure

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management with a minimum of 5 -10 years’ experience preferred in sourcing or project management in a manufacturing environment and significant understanding of new product introduction processes. 

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), APICS, Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) - Preferred
