POSITION SUMMARY: This position will primarily focus on data gathering, analysis, application configuration, testing, training, knowledge transfer, and system implementation support. This position will work in both a corporate and Client setting while adding value and developing skills and will be provided the opportunity to work across a variety of industries and develop solutions for Clients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Providing technical and functional leadership on systems assessment and implementation projects
  • Supporting the planning, organization, and kick-off portions of projects.
  • Problem solving and management
    • Gathering, organizing, and analyzing systems-related information
    • Providing configuration, testing, and training services to Clients on Warehouse Management System (WMS) applications
    • Leading Client teams in system implementation tasks
    • Writing and preparing test scripts for all test cycles and scenarios
    • Ensuring WMS processes are consistent with functional and technical specifications and operational requirements
    • Understanding Client operational processes and concepts
  • Communication (oral and written)
    • Articulating communications, both written and oral to Client and Fortna teams with strong presence, creditability, professionalism, and content knowledge
    • Writing and delivering high quality documentation and analysis
    • Leading the development of Client deliverables and presentations
  • Mentorship
    • Demonstrating and promoting Fortna’s Business Principles
    • Mentoring team members to attain their goals
    • Demonstrating and promoting teamwork and cooperation
  • Providing specific technical expertise (e.g., WMS application functionality, WMS Implementation)
  • Providing input to annual performance evaluations
  • Leading small teams in assignments as directed
  • Developing and supporting internal business systems and processes
  • Contributing to Fortna thought leadership efforts such as developing/contributing to white papers, documenting case studies, etc.
  • Demonstrating leadership attributes e.g. persuasion, empathy, mentoring, career development

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with evidence of strong performance in systems engineering, logistics, or business
  • 2 – 3 years of cumulative experience at FORTNA or direct competitor in a Solution Design role
  • 2 - 4 years of cumulative experience in WMS and/or WCS system consulting and/or internal consulting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance
  • Ability to implement structured problem solving techniques
  • High level understanding of financial analysis
  • Ability to utilize good facilitation skills
  • Ability to develop research and knowledge management skills
  • Experience in business case development
  • Ability to employ persuasion skills with discretion and consideration
  • Drive to always add value and ensure accuracy and quality in all work performed
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, facilitation skills (written and verbal communication)
  • Ability to manage 'project level' Client relationships
  • Ability to coach/lead others
  • Time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize conflicting demands
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supply Chain certificate training (e.g., The Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech, IIE)

WORKING CONDITIONS: When duties are performed in a typical office environment, extended periods of sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen will be required. Also required is the ability to talk and hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; and ability to reach with hands and arms. Associates are frequently required to walk and stand. The noise level in this work environment is usually quiet. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

When travelling to Client sites, essential requirements of this position may require physical presence in various environments and locations. Physical stamina may be required for prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters. Exposure to potentially dangerous tools and equipment amidst a variety of building materials is probable, as is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can vary from being relatively quiet, to moderate, to excessive. Safety shoes or boots may be required in certain situations. Additional safety clothing including gloves, hardhats, and devices to protect eyes, mouth, or hearing, will be worn as necessary.
