The Senior Software Engineer on the New Ventures team designs, creates, maintains, audits, and improves software applications by performing coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. This position works on fast-moving, innovative projects that require independent ownership and solutions for complex technical challenges. The Senior Software Engineer completes work with minimal supervision, mentors less experienced engineers, and advocates for continuous improvements while driving team success through collaboration and technical excellence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design & Development: Design robust solutions for complex projects and build scalable software applications that power new business initiatives

Code Excellence: Write, test, and implement efficient, maintainable code that meets quality standards and performance requirements

Agile & Adaptive Development: Work within an Agile environment, respond to change quickly, re-focus development efforts, and adapt to evolving requirements
Ownership & Independence: Manage projects from conception through deployment with minimal supervision, owning technical decisions and outcomes
Code Quality: Perform code audits, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the development lifecycle to ensure high-quality, maintainable applications
Continuous Improvement: Audit existing systems, identify optimization opportunities, and advocate for technical improvements across the team
Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing code reviews, technical guidance, and professional development support
Collaborative Leadership: Advocate for continuous improvements, influence technical decisions, and work as a solution-oriented partner with team members and stakeholders
Professional Development: Continuously update technical knowledge and skills to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
Strategic Input: Make recommendations for future development options and technology choices to support business objectives

***Pay Range for this role is - $100,000 - $120,000 based on experience

EDUCATION: 
1.    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE: 
1.    5+ years of related experience.

2. Shipped production software in Python and Java

10. Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) and comfort integrating them into your workflow

11. Experience with cloud platforms and microservices architecture
