What We're Looking For

We’re seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior SEO Manager to lead our organic search strategy and ensure flawless digital tracking across Ideal Living’s portfolio of brands. This role combines advanced SEO expertise with technical proficiency in Google Tag Manager (GTM) and pixel/tag implementation. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving organic growth, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to keep our marketing and analytics stack firing correctly.

This position reports into the Vice President of Digital Growth & Acquisition, as part of the performance marketing team, and liaises regularly with brand, content, and development teams to evangelize search and measurement best practices throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • SEO Strategy Development: Design and execute a comprehensive SEO roadmap that improves rankings, organic traffic, and visibility in SERPs, including Featured Snippets and Search Generative Experiences. Collaborate with channel owners and brand managers to identify SEO-driven test opportunities, supporting a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Keyword Research & Content Alignment: Conduct ongoing keyword research and competitive analysis to inform content strategies. Partner with creative teams to develop high-quality, optimized content that resonates with target audiences and ranks across engines and AI-driven discovery.
  • Technical SEO: Collaborate with developers to implement SEO best practices, structured data, site architecture improvements, and internal linking strategies across all properties.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report SEO performance using GA4, Search Console, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, and other tools. Provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Tag Management & Pixel QA: Own Google Tag Manager (or equivalent container) for all properties, including creation, editing, and QA of tags, triggers, and variables. Partner with developers to implement and debug data layer pushes. Conduct regular QA to ensure accurate pixel firing for analytics, media, and affiliate platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and ecommerce teams to align SEO and tracking initiatives with broader acquisition goals.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Remain current on search algorithm changes, emerging SEO tactics, data privacy regulations, and new tracking methodologies. Evaluate the impact of AI on SEO and measurement.
  • Advocacy: Educate and empower non-SEO stakeholders—including content, brand, and engineering teams—with best practices and training to help ensure SEO is embedded in site content as it’s created.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in SEO with proven success in driving organic growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to evangelize SEO within an organization and influence content and product roadmaps.
  • Hands-on technical SEO expertise and experience collaborating with developers on site optimizations.
  • Strong technical skills in Google Tag Manager, including building and QAing tags, triggers, and variables; familiarity with data layers, event tracking, and debugging tools (e.g., GTM preview mode, GA debugger, Charles/Fiddler).
  • Experience managing pixels for analytics, paid media, affiliate, and other marketing platforms.
  • Proficiency in SEO/analytics tools such as GA4, Search Console, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, TripleWhale, and similar.
  • Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate technical details into business impact.
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid office environment, with at least 3 in-office days per week in Sherman Oaks.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Compensation
  • Full benefits including PTO, 401(k), Pet Insurance, and more!
  • A fun and inclusive work environment
  • Hybrid work environment - 3 days in office, 2 days remote
  • Free EV Charging
  • On-site gym and pilates studio

Summary: This role is perfect for an SEO leader who is equally comfortable diving into technical tag management. You’ll ensure Ideal Living’s brands are discoverable in search while guaranteeing the accuracy of our marketing and analytics tracking foundation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
