This role is responsible for applying strong regulatory engineering knowledge to support NPD, sustaining, and productivity designs that have intermediate to medium complexity. This role will be heavily involved in advanced development and strategic standards development as it pertains to new product development projects. This role has the technical ability to apply existing regulatory knowledge and interpretations to develop medium products. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining engineering quality by mentoring interns/apprentices and peer reviewing designs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain current product regulatory files
- Review/submit new product compliance
- Approve CRs/CNs
- Develop new technology to utilize on new platforms by using advanced research techniques.
- Conduct peer review for product design by acting as the technical reviewer on ECNs.
- Develop project costs by utilizing history and quotes
- Mentor interns and apprentices in Regulatory engineering (duplicate of below)
- Coordinate, provide leadership to, and review the technical work of regulatory engineering staff.
- Ensure regular communications to Core Team Leader, Functional Managers, and Stakeholders. Monitor project milestones - communicating any blockers or delays.
- Regulatory expert team member during design reviews.
- Provide ongoing research as to current world-wide regulatory standards, future changes, and industry trends to ensure all products are in full compliance. Present new concepts and techniques to engineers or management by creating white papers
- Understand both domestic and international standards for product safety, radio, EMC, BT, and WiFi.
- Facilitate the discussion of new technologies and new standards.
- Subject Matter expert on one or more product families.
- Ongoing involvement with both domestic and international standards writing organizations.
- Understand lab equipment and testing processes
- Conduct on-site testing.
- Assists in developing of engineering test plans and test processes/procedures, as necessary.
- Be certified in the CG/UL Client Test Data Program (CTDP)
- Be a signatory for the CG/UL Client Test Data Program (CTDP)
- Support product liability examinations.
- Mentor interns and apprentices on regulatory standards and best practices.
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
- Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience strongly preferred; or minimum of nine (9) years of job-related experience as defined in the Essential Duties & Responsibilities; an advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience; Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification strongly preferred; or commitment to obtain certification within one (1) year of date of hire or promotion.
- 5+ years of job-related experience with Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Able to travel up to 10% - domestically and internationally
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification

- Ability to efficiently communicate to all levels of organization or outside partners; good presentation skills; ability to lead a team of engineers; strong analytical skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; xFMEA tool experience
