Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Python Developer with deep expertise in building and enhancing APIs in our server-side applications. The primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining new and existing services that support our client-facing applications. This role will also provide technical leadership across the development team, conduct code reviews, and report directly to the VP of Engineering for Home Health. A strong commitment to collaborative problem-solving, high-quality system design, and the delivery of reliable, well-architected products is essential.
Essential Functions:
- Develop server-side features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
- Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
- Confidently ship moderately sized features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
- Provide mentorship for Junior and Intermediate Engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science
- 6+ years of practical experience in building enterprise level applications
- Strong proficiency with Python, Django Rest Framework
- Previous experience building scalable REST APIs
- Proficient in working with SQL and NoSQL database solutions such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
- Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.
- Excellent command over Data structures and Algorithms
- Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, and clear status updates.
- Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.
