Senior Project Manager 

Element Consulting Inc. is looking for a Senior Project Manager with 10 years of project/construction management experience. Experience in educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects is required.   

Duties: 

  • Manages and provides construction oversight of Construction Manager and Project Engineer. 

  • Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements 

  • Develops, assigns, and monitors performance of Construction Management staff relative to assigned construction projects 

  • Reviews status and overall construction project schedule, milestone dates. 

  • Coordinates construction activities with the contractor(s) so the construction does conflict with operating school activities 

  • Reviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact on the District’s budget 

  • Assists Campus Director of Projects and Program Manager’s and other Facilities management staff with bid and contract planning 

  • Assesses in preconstruction planning, document review, constructability, milestones based on active school needs and overall schedule  

  • Review logistics plan for construction and potential interference with campus activities   

  • Reviews status and monitors construction progress, variances with the contract documents, budget and schedule 

  • Provides monthly progress reports and other status reports as needed 

  • Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management construction projects 

  • Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control 

  • Reviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for the architect and related consultants  

  • Coordinates program activities with campus(es), District Operations & Maintenance, Principal other District departments  

  • Reviews and takes recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects 

  • Develops and recommends internal policies and procedures 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned 

Required Experience: 

  • 10 full time paid professional project/construction management experience 

  • 5 years of experience in managing large programs with projects having construction values in excess of $50 million (not cumulative) 

  • 5 years’ experience in educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects (may include projects outside of California)  

Additional Preferred Experience: 

  • Lease Lease-Back Experience 

  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) 

  • Experience using e-Builder and Prolog 

  • Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)

Salary dependent on education and experience.  Salary range:  $150K-165K
