Sr. Project Manager / AI Implementations, Growth Marketing Operations
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Growth Marketing Operations (GROMO) team serves as the operational backbone of Growth, delivering accurate, compliant, and consistent member communications at enterprise scale across email, SMS, push, direct mail, and emerging channels. As we transition to an AI-first operating model, we need a Project Manager who will architect the systems and scaffolding that enable the entire team to work in an agentic way.
We're hiring a Senior Project Manager / AI Implementations to lead GROMO and the broader Growth team toward AI adoption and optimal usage. This role sits within the Project Management Office (PMO) and represents a strategic investment in both building the infrastructure that enables distributed innovation and owning the outcomes of that transformation.
This is not traditional project management. You'll operate across three dimensions:
1. Builder & Architect: You'll create the infrastructure that empowers others to build—designing the guardrails, documentation, training, and support structures that help team members bridge from idea to implementation. You'll also lead by example, directly building key shared tools and infrastructure while coaching others to do the same.
2. Ecosystem Owner: You'll maintain the GROMO AI tool repository with strong organization, version control, and quality standards. You'll design workflows that ensure tools are discoverable, properly onboarded, and embedded into daily operations—preventing tool graveyard syndrome where things are built but never used.
3. Transformation Strategist: You'll track our manual-to-automation percentage across GROMO workflows, establish baseline metrics, and provide strategic visibility to leadership on where we are in the journey and where to invest next. You'll measure operational impact (efficiency gained, time saved, error reduction) and prioritize the roadmap based on ROI.
You'll bring the right teams together (GROMO, Engineering, Growth) to unblock AI initiatives, translate concepts into actionable plans, and ensure the team has the knowledge, tools, and protected time needed to develop their own AI agents and automation. You'll use systematic approaches to democratize AI tool development across GROMO, shifting from centralized building to distributed innovation where every team member can create solutions for their unique workflows.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Project & Strategy Operations and works in close partnership with GROMO's three verticals: Project Management, Technical Operations, and Quality Assurance.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Build & Own the GROMO AI Tool Ecosystem
Establish and maintain the GROMO AI tool repository as a well-organized, high-quality asset library with clear version control, documentation standards, and deprecation protocols
Build shared infrastructure and reusable components (e.g., common MCPs, skill libraries, agent patterns) that reduce time-to-prototype from weeks to days and accelerate tool development across the team
Ship 3-5 high-impact shared tools per quarter that solve common operational challenges (e.g., campaign QA automation, segmentation validation, compliance checking)
Design scaffolding, templates, and frameworks that enable non-technical team members to go from concept to working prototype independently
Drive AI Tool Adoption & Workflow Integration
Design and implement usage workflows that ensure AI tools are discoverable, properly onboarded, and structurally embedded into daily operations—not just built and abandoned
Increase AI tool adoption rates quarter-over-quarter, with a target of 80% of GROMO team members actively using at least one AI tool in their core workflow within 6 months
Conduct workflow audits to identify where AI tools are underutilized or workflows haven't been redesigned to leverage automation, then create intervention plans to close adoption gaps
Partner with PMO, Technical Operations, and Quality Assurance to redesign future-state workflows that integrate AI capabilities seamlessly while maintaining quality standards (98.5%+ accuracy target)
Track Manual-to-Automation Progress & Identify Opportunities
Establish baseline metrics for manual-to-automation percentage across all GROMO workflows and track quarterly improvement toward a target of 40% automation coverage by end of 2026
Provide executive-level dashboards and reporting that quantify operational impact: efficiency gained, time saved, error reduction, throughput improvement, and team capacity unlocked
Prioritize the AI tool development roadmap based on ROI analysis, identifying high-impact opportunities where automation can reduce manual toil or improve quality
Deliver regular strategic recommendations to GROMO leadership on where to invest next, supported by data on workflow bottlenecks, manual effort distribution, and automation feasibility
Enable Team Capability & Self-Service Building
Build training programs and enablement materials that progressively develop team capability from foundational AI literacy to hands-on tool building, with measurable skill progression milestones
Create comprehensive documentation, playbooks, and best practices that codify AI-first ways of working and enable self-service learning—reducing dependency on centralized support
Establish rhythm and rituals (e.g., monthly AI showcases, hackfest sessions, office hours) that create protected space for learning, experimentation, and knowledge sharing
Serve as the primary connector between team members with AI tool ideas and the technical resources needed to bring them to life, facilitating discovery sessions that translate operational pain points into well-scoped implementation opportunities
Coordinate Cross-Functional AI Initiatives
Lead 2-3 high-visibility technical projects per quarter that require collaboration between GROMO, MarTech Engineering, Growth, and Data Science
Serve as the technical program management liaison, translating business requirements into technical specifications, managing dependencies, and driving decision-making across teams
Manage end-to-end project lifecycles for complex AI implementations from discovery through rollout, ensuring on-time delivery and successful adoption
Prototype and validate AI tool concepts quickly, proving value and securing stakeholder buy-in before committing to full-scale implementation
