Location: Foster City USA  

 

The CIO Organization at Qualys is focused on driving technology results for all departments within the organization with a relentless focus on customer centricity, delivery excellence and user adoption. 

As a Senior Program Manager, you are responsible for leading and managing large, high-impact, cross-functional programs within the CIO organization. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the execution of complex IT programs that span multiple teams, drive strategic alignment, and ensure the overall success of initiatives that enhance technology, innovation, and business outcomes. Additionally, you will support and help optimize the organization’s application portfolio, ensuring it supports the company’s evolving business goals and technology strategy. 

This position is ideal for a highly skilled program management professional with deep experience in managing both IT programs and application portfolios in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The role requires strong cross functional collaboration with business teams, CIO teams and third-party vendors, to drive the business outcomes from technology transformation programs.   

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage large, cross-functional IT programs, driving alignment with business goals and IT strategies defined by the CIO organization. 

  • Develop project justification proposals, business cases and return on investment estimates; obtain executive approval and funding.  

  • Drive future state business process definition with key stakeholders and align it prior to implementation.   

  • Work closely with stakeholders across IT, business units, external vendors, and senior leadership to drive alignment on goals and objectives.  

  • Lead diverse, cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration throughout the transformation process. 

  • Develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, resources, risk mitigation strategies, and key milestones, ensuring all programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.   

  • Establish and manage program governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and communication protocols to keep stakeholders informed on program progress, risks, and challenges. 

  • Drive effective decision-making by providing leadership with clear, concise, and actionable program status updates, performance metrics, and recommendations. 

  • Facilitate program steering committee meetings and conduct periodic briefings/status updates to various levels of the organization for assigned areas.   

  • Oversee and support Qualys’s IT application portfolio, ensuring it aligns with the company’s business objectives, technology roadmap, and innovation goals. 

  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess application health, performance, and alignment with organizational priorities. 

  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to rationalize, modernize, consolidate, or decommission applications to enhance efficiency, reduce technical debt, and ensure scalability. 

  • Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new technologies, platforms, and tools to optimize application performance and enhance the value delivered to the business. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA, MS) is a plus. 

  • 10+ years of experience in IT program management, with a proven track record of successfully leading large, cross-functional programs and managing IT application portfolios. 

  • Strong expertise in supporting application portfolios, including rationalization, modernization, and alignment with business strategy. 

  • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and emerging technologies such as cloud computing, AI, machine learning, and automation. 

  • Expertise in IT project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, ServiceNow) 

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.   

  • Stellar communication skills. Ability to convey messages with simplicity and clarity.   

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to combine attention to detail with big picture perspective.   

  • Experience leading global teams.   

  • Certification in program management (e.g., PMP) or Agile methodologies (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP)

Annual Salary Guidelines: $155,000 - $170,000
