This position is a critical intersection point between finance, engineering, and product strategy. As a Sr. Program Analyst, you will lead the strategic development and implementation of long-term cost management and reduction programs, specifically targeting profitability for our Next Gen EV platforms. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to optimize cost of goods sold (COGS) and inform critical product attribute decisions. Based in our Long Beach, Palo Alto, or Dearborn hubs, you will provide the transparent financial reporting and executive-level insights—including Board of Directors materials—that influence the most significant strategic decisions in Ford’s history.

We are looking for a candidate with a "first principles" mindset who is ready to tackle ambiguous challenges head-on, navigate massive datasets, build automated reporting tools, and provide the quantitative evidence needed to drive multi-billion dollar decisions. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that our technical ambitions remain aligned with our profitability roadmaps.

Responsibilities
  • Own the strategy, development, and implementation of long-term cost management and cost reduction programs in partnership with Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
  • Deliver the financial roadmap to product profitability on next-generation electric vehicles, supporting best-in-class vehicle attributes while maximizing long-term company returns.
  • Lead business case analysis on complex vehicle product attribute and user experience changes, enabling executives to make informed decisions impacting the Ford customer.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to break down both customer revenue and COGS to the unit figures across the full breadth of the vehicle program income statement.
  • Partner with GTM teams to assess the financial implications of future customer purchase experience strategies.
  • Drive transparent financial reporting and cost status reporting; deliver critical updates to executive stakeholders up to and including Board of Directors level materials.
  • Deploy best-in-class data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) to ensure continuous availability of information versus static reporting.
  • Bring a first-principles mindset to solve ambiguous challenges. No problem is above your involvement; be willing to get your hands dirty and tackle problems head-on.
Qualifications

You’ll have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a similar quantitative field.
  • 6 or more years in a fast-moving environment or industry that has undergone significant transformation and growth.
  • Mastery of traditional analysis tools (Excel, PPT) and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Alteryx.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and deliver results in a highly complex, cross-functional organization.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to be concise and fluent in executive-level communication.

Even better, you may have...

  • MBA.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering exceptional results in the face of ambiguity and constant change.
  • A track record of challenging the status quo to drive progress on a strategic agenda.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and the ability to build trust with peers who are technical experts in their fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to elevate the standards of a new organization and build a "followership" through your work.

Even better, you may have...

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
  • Tuition assistance
  • Established and active employee resource groups
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service
  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day
  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $106,440-178,320.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
