About the Role

LendingClub is seeking a Sr Product Operations Manager to own and evolve the Product Operating System: the processes, tools, templates, and rituals that enable our product organization to operate at scale, delivering customer and business outcomes predictably and efficiently.
Success in this role is defined by team effectiveness. You are accountable for building and owning the infrastructure that allows:
• Product Managers to focus on discovery and outcomes,
• Product Delivery Managers to coordinate portfolios efficiently,
• and leadership to have clear visibility into progress and health.
Your philosophy: The Product Team is Product Operations' Product. Your success is measured by how effectively the systems, tools and process you own enable the Product Team to operate, make decisions, and deliver outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Own and maintain the end-to-end Product Development Lifecycle, from discovery through delivery to post-launch learning
  • Establish cross-functional expectations for how Product, Engineering, Design, and Research collaborate at each stage
  • Ensure team balances rigor with speed, enabling teams without creating bureaucracy
  • Continuously improve based on feedback from Product Managers, Product Delivery Managers, and portfolio leaders

Templates, Tools & Documentation Standards

  • Curate and maintain a library of clear, consistent and easy to adopt templates that accelerate product work: BRDs, PRDs, discovery briefs, roadmap views, launch checklists, decision records, retrospective frameworks
  • Administer, optimize, and integrate the product toolchain: roadmapping platforms, delivery tracking systems, dashboards, analytics tools, research repositories
  • Organize and maintain a “single source of truth” for Product documentation in Confluence

Portfolio Visibility, Dashboards & Reporting

  • Design and maintain portfolio-level dashboards that provide clear visibility into initiative status, progress toward outcomes, risks, and dependencies
  • Build standardized reporting frameworks for roadmap commitments, experiment results, and business outcome evaluation
  • Ensure leadership has consistent, reliable insights about product progress prioritizing asynchronous means

Operating Cadence, Rituals & Launch Readiness

  • Establish and maintain Product operating rhythms, in partnership with Technology Strategy and Operations: quarterly planning, portfolio health reviews, launch readiness processes, retrospectives
  • Partner with Product Delivery Managers to ensure consistent adoption of standards and rituals

Insights, Analytics & Performance Measurement

  • Partner with Analytics to ensure Product teams have access to clean, consistent product performance data
  • Surface insights on Product organization effectiveness: cycle time, learning velocity, delivery predictability, meeting load

Enablement, Onboarding & Continuous Improvement

  • Create playbooks and guides for common Product workflows: running discovery, coordinating launches, managing dependencies, tracking delivery
  • Measure process effectiveness and continuously improve based on data and team input
  • Serve as "product ops consultant" to portfolios: help teams adopt best practices, troubleshoot blockers, optimize workflows

About You

  • 6+ years in product operations, product management, or related operational roles in product organizations
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Experience building and scaling operational systems, processes, and tools for product teams
  • Strong understanding of modern product operating models for empowered product teams, using continuous discovery, with outcome orientation
  • Experience working in B2C fintech or other fast-paced, growth-focused product environments

Tools & Technical Fluency

  • Strong familiarity with product tooling: Jira, Confluence, roadmapping platforms (Productboard, Airtable, etc.), analytics tools (Heap, Amplitude), dashboard/BI systems (Tableau)
  • Ability to evaluate tools, make pragmatic selections, and drive adoption
  • Experience building dashboards and automated reporting systems

Enablement & Communication

  • Strong written communication: can create clear, concise templates, playbooks, and documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management: builds trust with Product leaders, PMs, and cross-functional partners

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
